How do you validate an xml. file. I get a message that says : an error occurred writing roster file, may not be complete c:\roster.xml (access denied).

Under file in DP or Debug in PP is a validate XML option.

The real problem is that JMRI thinks your roster should be written at the root of your hard drive, instead of in the usual place inside your JMRI user directory.

Did you change the roster location in the JMRI preferences?
