DecoderPro not working after updating JMRI.
#upgrading
Hello guys.
Decoder pro does not work anymore since I updated from 4.24 to 4.26. All I see on the programming window is " Write changes on sheets and? Write all sheets. My Panel pro works ok. Is there anything that I missed. Hopefully someone can guide me to the problem. I would really like to update to the latest release but that scares me as I would have to install java 11. I'm not a computer guy. I'm a point and click guy. If someone could help me update to the latest version, that would be appreciated. Need to fix decoder pro first I would expect. Thanks for any ideas. -- MARK TAYLOR |
Hello group.
I decided to update my JMRI from 4.24 to 4.26. This is the first time I did an update as I started using JMRI about 3 years ago. The update loaded ok and everything on panel pro works correctly. When I? tried to use my programming track the programming window on Decoder pro only shows " Write changes on set " and " Write full sheets ". I tried to change settings on a couple of locos but with no luck. Is there anything I? missed. ?Any thoughts would be appreciated. I posted this question yesterday but have no idea where it went. I am far from being a computer guy at 58 yrs. old. Lol Thankyou for any help. -- MARK TAYLOR |
OK, so we need the following:
which computer (Mac, Win10, etc) Which DCC system (Digitrax 210, NCE powercab, etc) When JMRI has started, go to help, about JMRI. Screenshot or copy text is a good start. Were there any warning popup dialogs or messages? When you do updates, always look at the update instructions. Recently Java was updated to a new version to use. VERY specific instructions on how to update from 4.x to 5.x. Skipping a step can bugger up things good. -- --- Thomas DeSoto, TX |
Click on help in the menu bar followed by System Console and copy into a message. It could be a bad download that needs to be redone.
Upgrading to current versions is simple. tells you how to upgrade Java, then it's a simple matter to upgrade to 5.0 and then 5.4 (or 5.6 to be released in the next week). The longer you wait the further behind you get. -- Peter Ulvestad JMRI Users Group Moderator ( ) Tam Valley Group Moderator ( ) Sprog-DCC Group Moderator ( ) Edmonton Model Railroad Association ( ) |
Hello group.
So I have done all the updates from 4.24 to 5.0. When I go to use decoder pro, I get an old roster list from? along time ago when I started using decoder pro.? How do I get the latest roster list I was using on 4.24. I'm confused as to why or how this happened during my updating. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thankyou. -- MARK TAYLOR |
¿ªÔÆÌåÓýGuess that you've got multiple layout connections described.? ?
Look in your local files, which on Windows will be something like " C: \users\[yourname]\JMRI\"
Within there are likely several layout connections, and within those the files for each layout connection.??
Once you've found what you're looking for, you should be able to change the preferences to use the connection you want to use (and might want to delete the ones not in use).?
