Re: operations crash 4.10
Bill I recently had a similar issue. I upgraded from 10.3 to the latest
release version of JMRI. During the loading of data process I had one exe file that wouldn't load (Later found that this was rejected by my Virus protection). I skipped that exe file and continued to load the rest of the JMRI data. Once loaded I opened JMRI and went to Ops/train build to build some trains for an upcoming operations session. The build process had the same issues as you are experiencing. After some very helpful information from people on the JMRI Yahoo group I was able to establish that I had to turn my virus protection off temporarily and reload the latest version of JMRI. This was done and everything now seems to work correctly. Duncan On Wed, Mar 14, 2018 at 11:37 AM, Bill Rooke wwrooke39@... [jmriusers] <jmriusers@...> wrote:

Ignore the panel trackage and turnouts. Open the turnout table and sort by system name. The five buttons at the bottom of the panel are IT turnouts. Clicking on one sets it closed and the remaining 4 to thrown. This is handled by the Logix. The Routes are also triggered by an IT going closed. That sets the turnout ladder based on which trigger was selected. These turnouts are not on the panel so you have to watch the turnout table to see the results. Re: USB problems
Hi Dave
This is esumner1 I¡¯m having the same problems as Gordie. I have tried your procedure but it does not work because the USB will not communicate with the computer. The cables are fine the driver is correct but it still will not show on computer. I have changed all settings . There is no evidence in console or terminal. The NCE engineer thinks problem is in settings combinations in network with interface. What I can¡¯t understand is why the interface worked on old computer and not on this one. esumner1 On Mar 14, 2018, at 2:02 AM, Dave Heap dgheap@... Re: Reading Company - Signal Rules.
The 1954 rules are broadly similar to the 1968 rules apart from the new indication for rule 288 on high masts with the bottom flashing yellow (to make slow approach displayable on a high mast).
There are a few differences between the reading system and NS-2008 that make it quite hard to just adapt:- 1. Head position on the mast makes a difference - heads are normally on the right of the mast but permissive masts with a number plate (that have a most restricted aspect of stop and proceed) have the middle head on the left of the mast. 2. The 'distant' mast (mast G in the rulebooks) has no equivalent in NS-2008. 3. Rule 285A is an aspect not in the NS-2008 aspect table. 4. No staggered head or 'cat face' icons in NS-2008. There are some staggered head and right of mast icons in the CROR system that might form the basis of Reading icons, and under smallschematics in the resources there are some RDG_Catface_Signals which may be of use when creating icons. Scott: Confused here are what you are trying to do, None of your routes are triggered by anything, Your logix's Throw and Close Internal turnouts. The Turnouts on tour panel are Sprog turnout, not Internal. Your panel file does not have the legs of the turnouts connected to anything.

Re: WiThrottle viewing turnouts
Hi Jay, The fix I am referring to is where the filter was broken, and the user was unable to mark turnouts to "Include" in the WiThrottle download.

There is no longer a problem in JMRI finding COM3 port but there is also no change in Panel Pro's reacion to my shuttle script - ie running the script starts up the train, puts on the lights, sounds the horn, changes the turnouts, and sets the train off. There is however no reaction as the train passes sensors 2,3 and 4. At that point I have to stop the train with the ProCab as the next set of points has not changed.Your settings for jumpers and JMRI are not correct. When I power up the layout before staring JMRI, everything appears normal and the LEDs on the AIU01 all light up for a few seconds before switching off.; the LED on the interface lights up and remains on.If the USB side LED on the NCE USB remains on, it simply indicates JMRI is busy trying to talk to your SB5. If the Cab Bus side LED on the NCE USB remains on, it indicates the NCE USB has locked up trying to talk to your SB5. When I start Panel Pro, all seems normal; there is an initial flash of the LEDs on the interface during opening and then they remain out. When the panel opens all seems well and the state of all sensors is "Unknown". As soon as I click on one of them to change its state, both LEDs on the interface start to flash rapidly and continue to do so until I quit the program. That indicates JMRI is talking to the SB5 fine and most likely asking for AIU xx status so the problem is elsewhere. Have you tried a "Show Cabs" under the NCE Menu to see if your AIU is being seen by the SB5 and at what address? Once you have determined the cab address of the AIU from "Show Cabs", use the "NCE Command Monitor" to see if that matches the AIU address JMRI is interrogating. You will see the interrogation messages in the Command Monitor. Note that the SB5 does not return a failure message for a non-existent (or incorrectly addressed) AIU. It simply always returns a status of 00 00. The System Console shows the following:While this configuration seems to be working OK, it is not optimum and will be telling you that program track mode is available, which it is not. SB5 Instructions ============ The correct settings for an SB5 and an NCE USB V7 are: - USB Jumper 4 on. All others off (or at least 2 & 3. Jumper 1 is ignored). - JMRI preferences are: -- System manufacturer: NCE -- System connection: NCE USB -- Serial port: <whatever is appropriate for your system> -- USB version: V7.x.x -- System: SB5 -- Additional Connection Settings checkbox ON --- Baud rate: 19200. The JMRI console log should then report V7.3.1. Dave in Australia |

I was wrong. It was the missing background image that broke Logix during my testing. It would still be useful to delete the unused ¡°SYS" Logix. You might try the 4.11.3 test release. Since your are running on a Pi, you should also watch the CPU and memory utilization at the OS level. Dave Sand On Mar 14, 2018, at 11:07 AM, Dave Sand dave@... [jmriusers] <jmriusers@...> wrote: |

At one time, you had created a "Fiddle Yard" sensor group. This creates a special Logix called SYS which implements the radio button selector actions. At some point, you replaced the sensor group with turnouts acting as sensors and implemented your own Logix to mimic the sensor group actions. When the sensors were deleted, that left behind the SYS Logix which now creates an error during panel loading. 2018-03-14 10:45:09,186 igurexml.DefaultConditionalManagerXml WARN - No state variables found for conditional SYS_SGC_FIDDLE YARD [AWT-EventQueue-0] This error interrupts Logix initialization which means that Logix ¡°Fiddle Yard !¡± is not active. The turnouts on the layout still throw because the Route definitions are independent. The solution is to delete the SYS Logix from the Logix Table. Dave Sand On Mar 14, 2018, at 3:31 AM, scott@... This is also my understanding. Walthers are just mentioning that they are using SoundTraxx without any rebranding. So something like "Tsunami Diesel Walthers Mainline OEM" would be more appropriate - to distinguish from the older family "Tsunami Diesel Walthers OEM"; ?Alain LM

Hi Walt..
Should just be the file BranchSchematic.jpg, as you say in the resources folder. It's just the background that I've used to place the points onto. Quite simple image really. Cheers, Scott. |
