Re: Build Fail, claims no route for cars
#operationspro
Pete,?
Thanks for the reply. I will have to wait for another build fail as I have built a new train.
In the mean time let me explain Mr RR a bit.
Afton is staging only. It is actually 5 drawers off layout. ?This train (NSVL 82) will be set on a siding until it is time to show up in Lyndhurst. Here the trains drops its ?inbound cars on the main, then goes to a yard track picks up the outbound cars and goes back to Afton.
Lyndhurst is a Yard only. It is actually 3 tracks but for simplicity I have it as one in JMRI. When NSVL82 ?goes back to Afton the yard crew will sort the cars for the next trains.
The Wolfpen turn (NSVL 107) is routed from Lyndhurst Yard ?to the Lyndhurst transload and then to Wolfpen and then return to the yard.
The Schuyler turn(NSVL 105) is routed from Lyndhurst Yard ?to Schuyler power then onto Schuyler (this in a C/I track). Then returns to the yard.
The Schuyler switcher (NSVL 202) works the paper mill and then drops/ pickups cars from the Schuyler interchange track.
The only cars having routing issues are my hoppers. As seen they are not making the trip to Lyndhurst ?Transload.
The program did try to send the car to Dunn Papermill, but there would be too many hoppers there.
The program is supposed to wait one turn then switch out the Hopper at the paper mill, but lately is. To doing that either.
Next time I build a train with the hoppers I will post the build report ( if fails).
I have made the changes you recommended by the way.
?
So basically My RR is a rural Appalachian operation. Cars come in from Afton (the rest of the world) run down the valley to ?Schuyler (the end of the line) where Dunn Papermill is (my biggest customer). Sometimes I will combine the wolfpen and Schuyler turn into one train (even though I still have JMRI build them as separate trains). sometimes I just run them one at time as the mood strikes.
Again thanks for your time and be looking out for the next build report…should I just post it here or start a new post??
Joe

I think I'll do the same for the modular group.

All the booster boxes I set up for the group and my home stuff have a circuit breaker feeding the track, set about .5 amp below the booster rating, the accessory decoders are fed from before the breakers so we don't have the problems with track shorts.?
MERG do circuit breaker kits for less than ?12 if you are into making such things, but you do need to be a member to buy them.

There is a reference page here:

If you proceed down as far as "Create an Action" and then select "Request update of all sensors", that is the only command needed.
When you close down the dialogue make sure "start up" is ticked.

DCCconcepts in the UK do a product DCD-iPCB.1 which is very effective, although quite expensive (around UKP 80).? Also you would need two, one for each track feed.? I guess there are probably similar alternatives out there.

Hope that helps, Phil

Re: Separate Configuration for DecoderPro and PanelPro
Ken, You need two profiles in Preferences -> ConfigProfiles, one for the PR3 layout connection and one for the PR3 direct programming track connection. ?Preferences -> File Locations for each has the same User Files Location. Start PanelPro, go to Preferences -> ConfigProfiles, select the layout connection and click on the Activate button. ?Do a Save and restart. ? ?Quit PanelPro. Repeat for DecoderPro. Separate Configuration for DecoderPro and PanelPro
I used to have this setup on a previous computer and for the life of me, I cannot remember how I made this work:
I use PR3 to interface Loconet.
I use Dropbox to maintain my roster and profile.
1) My previous computer ran PR3 with my command station POM and operations with PanelPro.
2) It also ran PR3 as standalone directly to the programming track when DecoderPro was fired up.
I use DecoderPro only when setting up a new locomotive decoder, so rarely used (until now, of course).
?
Now I find that I need to reconfigure when I switch between DecoderPro and PanelPro and back.
How did I have the previous computer setup?
Memory goes out the window with age (isn't that a great excuse?).

Re: LogixNG query inconsistent turnout position
You don't say which hardware and command system you are using.
You may need to add delay between turnout commands if you are using Routes to initialize on startup.
If using scripts, add delay (250ms) between switch commands.

LogixNG query inconsistent turnout position
Hi
When I start a session, all turnout are automaticaly set to Closed. But for an unknow reason, on time to time, a turnout can show as being inconsistent. Once inconsistent, JMRI cannot give any order to a turnout.?
I would like to create a logix which?
1) check which turnouts are showing as inconsistents
2) query? their status, which should return as unknow
3) sert turnout to Closed
?
Any idea on how to do that ?? Or is there a more elegant way to solve the issue of turnout showing "inconsistent" ??
