Re: How to use division and csv modules within a JMRI script
Nick:
I don't know what your RFID set up is: our (MRCS) system uses ID12 readers and glasstag (kitty chips) mounted on the trucks, we get very reliable reads up to about 30 scale mph in HO, above that its good (maybe 95%) but we do miss some. Since we use the tags for generating cut lists and generally read over the yard throats this isn't an issue. We also have an "OS" application for reporting passage of stations on TT&TO railroads, but again, that's not an issue on most operating layouts. A description of our RFID system is available at HTH Seth On 7/1/2017 3:00 AM, nicholas_murphy@... [jmriusers] wrote: -- Seth Neumann Mountain View, CA |

Dave,
The schema change for the sensors will be included in the 4.7.7 test release and the 4.8 production release. After upgrading you will no longer need the script to disable schema validation. Dave Sand |

Are you using the PR3 as an interface to a Digitrax command station or as a standalone programmer?
I would recommend trying a different USB cable if you haven't done so already as some PR3s shipped with questionable cables. If using as a standalone programmer, what are you using for a power supply? See note about power supplies on the JMRIs PR3 page. I personally use a 19 volt supply. Peter |

Thanks for the clarification. To me it didn't seem the ops portion need any improvement. I have had some issues but these were my mistakes. Curious if anyone has implemented this new detection device from Digitrax. Well the log shows things starting up, but then silently dying. No errors showing, no 'normal exit' type message either. So some form of real crash is happening. Re: Starting over
Don,
Generally building the tables of the parts (turnouts, sensor, signals) is a good method when you have the hardware first. This lets you quickly test all the parts to make sure things work. Then you build the panels to control the layout. But sometimes you don't have the hardware first, but you do have the layout. So you build the panels but create 'Internal' and 'Virtual' devices for everything. Key here is setting usernames for all the parts. When building the panels and logic, always enter things by the username. Then later you add the real hardware and use the 'move' command to shift the username from the non-real device to the real hardware. This method lets you figure out just how much hardware you need. -Ken Cameron, Member JMRI Dev Team www.jmri.org www.fingerlakeslivesteamers.org www.cnymod.com www.syracusemodelrr.org |

Re: JMRI and Tsunami2 TSU-1100
It's actually pretty simple:
The PR3 has two modes of operation - One is "talk to the LocoNet" (MS100) mode, and the other is "use my (the PR3's) programming outputs" (Stand-alone Programming) mode. It can only be in one of those modes at any given time. Due to the differing nature of those two modes, there are also two rather basic sets of connection requirements: If you want it to program decoders. you have to provide the correct DC power (the PR3 comes with a wall-wart) and connect it's programming outputs to a programming track. And if you want to talk to the LocoNet, you have to connect it to, well, the LocoNet. To put it in the mode you want, you simply push the "Mode" button. The LED's on the device indicate which mode you're in. The PR3's instructions have a table describing the various LED colors/flashes/etc, so I won't repeat that here. But there's an easier way to set the mode: Set up your JMRI profile(s) correctly for your intended use! For example, my DecoderPro profile puts my PR3 in Stand-alone Programming mode, and my PanelPro profile puts it in LocoNet (MS100) mode. Bottom line; Since you are getting a 306, your computer and the PR3 aren't talking to each other. Check that your physical connections and your JMRI profile are set correctly for the PR3 mode you intend to use, and that the proper DC power is applied if you are using Stand-alone Programming Mode.
