Different model devices use different approaches. A lot of them use port 80,but some use slightly different commands over the link.
Do you have a link to a manual for the device you¡¯re using?

I have a Smart socket that I'd like to use to control power to the entire layout (command station, etc). I can currently control the smart socket via Amazon Echo but I'd like to control it via a JMRI panel button or sensor. the script seems tailor made to do that. The script needs the ip address and port number of the smart socket. I know the ip address of the smart socket but have no idea how to find the port number. Anyone have any ideas?
