Getting a new engine

Had the bike about a month, been doing service and getting it dialed in when the ignition pulse generator decided to fail.? ?Of course it is a no longer available part.? So I just got a couple of good compression low mileage engines off ebay and just going to swap out a whole engine as I have a lot of blowby and compression is not that good anyway.? (rings are not available either)
got the Tupperware off and got it up on my motorcycle lift now.??

Not a small project! Please keep us posted on how it goes, and what surprises you run into on the project.

How much is all that going to cost you. I asked becuase I am going to be selling my 96 with 12K on it. It is a project in proggrese. I have done many upgrades or factory replacements and aftermarket. Before I go on just tell me how much you plan to spend on you project. If your not intrested I understand.
Good Luck

Hiya,?

I'm a PC800 owner from across the pond in England.

You may want to check out a YouTube video by Andrius Rud? entitled "Motorbike Engine is changed Honda PC800"

It's only 10mins long, and he is quite a jolly lad who does the whole thing on his driveway!

Certainly worth a look.

Good luck.

OH, I was in London in 1988 summer. That was my last stop on a 4 month journey acroos Europe and all the way to Turkey. It was a wonderful time on the planet. No wars but not for long Serbia. Well I have this 96 in great condition like knew. I started a few things and it became do everything and more so I dont have to take the plastic off for a long time. I am 69 going back out to the south west. When i think about all the work I have done it is hard to part with, but it my be the right thing to do.? I have 7000.00 plus in cluding purchase price with all documentation and that does not include my time. Everthing looks new. Good luck with your project. I remember standing in a pub at the square drinking a pint of Bitters. I stayed at a Hostile on the Hyde park sguare.

I bought a couple of low mileage engines 19k and 24k with compression tested 180+ PSI on all cylinders from a seller on eBay, they have like 150,000+ feedback and had videos of the engines running.? I verified the miles on a vincheck app.? the engines were like $80 each.? The seller told me the shipping cost was the same for 1 or 2 engines so I got 2 delivered for < $600 total.? With more and more parts becoming obsolete on these bikes, it just made sense to get the extra engine.? Engine is mounted back in the bike.? Was hoping to have it running tonight, but I have a broken tab on one of the plastic engine covers so I have to wait for the epoxy putty to set up. 24 hrs or so.??

If anyone knows where this part goes,? any input would be great.? I think it goes with this bike, but not 100% positive about that.? ? It's been a couple months so...??
