Chains or locks - do you use one?
Howdy,
?
I've been perusing the forum trying to find any discussions about any anti-theft security measures and how they have been deployed. My '96 leaves very little room to run a cable or a lock and I don't even know where I would put it.?
?
So, does anyone out there use a chain or a lock or some other security measure to deter theft? Is there a nice big thread somewhere I just haven't been able to find??? |
开云体育I bought a front disc lock with an alarm years ago, but have never used it. I used to run a cable thru front and back tire around a post... And at one time I had a heavy-duty chain I ran thru both tires. It provided maybe enough to deter all but the hardened criminals... =) I am sure there are small electric theft devices that will
notify you of movement... I think you can adjust the sensitivity. The Scorpio SRX-900 comes to mind... Couple hundred bucks and is easy to install...?

开云体育Hi I use a chain and lock made by Artago from Spain . It’s 1.65 meters long about 6ths in weight.?I fit it through the rear wheel and loop it the main stand back towards the rear wheel again. The bike has to be on the main stand for this to work. Its a heavy piece of equipment and comes with peace of mind. On 17 Mar 2025, at 22:04, Schnurrbart via groups.io <lazerdash2@...> wrote:

They make a device that goes around the grip and locks the front brake lever back so the front tire won't turn? On Mon, Mar 17, 2025, 6:04?PM Schnurrbart via <lazerdash2=[email protected]> wrote:

Get some insurance and lock the front steering. If someone wants to steal a PC800 they are going to steal it. All they have to do is lift the rear tire and slide a roller board under the tire. You could do the same for the front tire even when the sterring is locked. You would have to attache the chain or whatever you use to another object. If the bike is not anchor. The bike can be taken. So a sound alarm would be the best place to spend you your money. These things are hard to sell. So I would dought any one would waste there time steeling a bike worth 2500. when they could steel a bike worth 20,000. I can hear the theif now why did i steel this dame thing. LOL.? ? Off the subject: I typed my phone number into a search engine and the only hit was this site. I posted my phone number a few times and the search engine found it. Whaever you post email, phone you will get a hit to your post. Be careful. Good Luck! On Mon, Mar 17, 2025 at 7:18?PM Eugene Breathnach via <aplusenergysavers=[email protected]> wrote:
