Worth Fixing IC-7000 suspected Blown Driver?

Hello group,
? I was driving down the road listening to 40 meters? when I seen and smelled smoke. When I got home I pulled the rig body that was mounted under the passengers seat and noticed the smell was coming from the rig body. ? ?I suspected the dreaded driver board went. Is this worth fixing? I do have the technical ability to do surface mount repair. What will this cost? Will it happen again? ? ?If I choose not to fix it, what is the radio worth with separation kit?
