I see that the April issue of the RSGB's Radcom magazine includes an advertisement from Martin Lynch (big radio dealer in the UK) where under the description of the IC706, it reports that a new model is on its way.

Maybe they saw it here of course...!

Same here in Sweden.

They sell the mk2g to ham clubs for 50% off now, but only to clubs, and they
“have no information” of a new rig in the same product category :)
