No audio, no transmit after programming IC-7000

My IC-7000 had been sitting a while and has a history of very light use. One night I pulled it out and decided to update the local repeaters. After programming the IC-7000 with R T Systems software, I hear no audio and the radio does not appear to transmit, no red line on the display. I then tried a full reset, and still no audio on all bands and no transmit on all bands. Any ideas on how to correct the problem?

TIA
Jon, N8YSS

Did you try it before the update and did it work then?
It may be totally unrelated to the update.
Is is possible that pure age sitting in the closet and boredom caused a problem is a central part of the radio that keeps it from working.
I can't see programming with RT systems causing the problem.
Did or does)? the RT system program read the radio programming?

No I have not updated the radio.? It did work before the reprogramming.? I checked to see if it was working and to see if one of the "new" repeaters was programmed in.? It was not so I added it to the file and uploaded.? I had previously downloaded from the radio, added short list of repeaters then uploaded, several years before.? I have not had any problems like this with software from R T Systems or Chirp or several other sources.? The hard reset I did was - hold the band up and down buttons in and power up the radio.? Any thing else I can try?? It doesn't appear to receive on any band or any mode.
TIA

I’ve been using chirp forever on many radios. ?Never bricked one. ?Never heard of Chirp bricking a radio from my friends and acquaintances either.

Didn't he VERY clearly say he'd used RT systems software. I don't understand the digression to Chirp

I have seen 2 ft-991a bricked with CHIRP...I have seen a ft-857d AND ft897d? both bricked along with a vx-6r..and 2 or 3 baofangs..they do warn you of this being a possibility at the start of the program..

With Icom radios?? I have seen a statement from Yaesu that CHIRP will invalidate their warranty.? CHIRP also warns about many of the Chinese radios because they update their firmware without notice.? It is bad programming practice to allow some sequence of instructions to actually destroy your radio.? The admission from Yaesu seems embarrassing.? I haven't seen an issue with Icom that couldn't be solved with a full reset.
