Stephen Nelson All Messages By This Member #39906 I had the same thing fail on my 7000 mic. I found the OEM part # but nobody had them in stock, or had a long lead time with large minimum order. I found a similar part that has the same package and works great so far on a common auction site. The part #: DHT-1106AB, 3.85mm 4 pin, and it was $6 shipped for quantity of 20. -Stephen N. KD6VEX

That is the exact ALPS switch that Icom ships as a replacement part.? It is a different model than the original switch was in that it is sealed and is rated for more cycles.? They currently only have 16 in stock, with 1000 on order.? Cost for quantity 1 is $1.13.? The sealed switch has a dark gray button instread of the original unsealed switch which had a red putton. It is important when installing the switch to use minimum heat on the leads, to prevent oxidizing the contacts.??The maximum tip temperature spec is 662 degrees F (350 C) using a 20 watt iron, applying heat for a maximum of 3 seconds to each lead. ?No flux solution should be applied to the board or switch leads (just use flux core solder).? That is per ALPS specifications. I forget if Mouser has a minimum order amount.? If so, they are a good source for Fair-Rite ferrite chokes. Steve, W3AHL

Steve G4ALG All Messages By This Member #42790 Now that I've had my IC-7000 for about six weeks; and repaired a fault in the pre-driver stage; and had several fine QSOs with this wonderful box of magic, I thought it was time to plug in the microphone and try it out. It was immediately apparent that the PTT switch (with the red button) was operating intermittently.? This was confirmed by direct testing of the switch using a multi-meter. At the time, I hadn't seen this Topic.? So I was very pleased, and a bit surprised, to find replacement switches on eBay.? Indeed, I found several suppliers of suitable switches.? ?This is not a recommendation, but I bought ten of the 6 x 6 x 5 mm right angle PCB switches advertised at: ? I have no idea whether these switches are 'sealed' types.? ?But, for under ?5 for ten switches, this seemed like a very good deal, providing loads of spares for the future!? The first switch I tested worked fine, with a nice positive action.? So I soldered it in place. Job done!

N0YWB All Messages By This Member #42792 It may be less expensive (certainly less hassle) to buy a replacement HM-133 microphone, and swap the key legend membranes.? The buttons work the same between the HM-133 and HM-151.? I've done that, and it works !? $6.73 at AliExpress ?
N0YWB All Messages By This Member #42793 The Icom HM-151, HM-133 and HM-207 microphones have the same hardware and transmit the same keycodes. Only the silicone rubber key legend membranes differ.? There are inexpensive Chinese clones of the HM-133 available on Amazon, ebay and AliExpress.? So, if your expensive HM-151 or HM-207 microphone fails, buy the cheap HM-133 clone and swap the key legend membranes.??
