MP853
I took a look in the service manual I got years ago and the only thing I can find is that there's a couple of pages of things that start with MP - in lists called Mechanical Parts, but this manual doesn't have an 853.? The highest it goes is MP851. If you'll notice, there's no copper leading to or from the part in the picture, which implies it's not connected to anything electrically, so that goes with being a mechanical part.? More details, like what assembly that is or the parts around it to search for might help, but that's just guessing.? The manual I have is dated 2005, so perhaps MP853 was added after this.? That's not much, but it's the best I can do. 73, Bob -- W4ATM - 35 Miles south of the Kennedy Space Center Retired RF Design Engineer Now able to play with all the hobbies I never had enough time for |
MP853 is a metal grounding earth spring that was added to the DDS board in 2006.? The picture you attached shows that the spring finger that is about 0.75" long had been broken off.? ?If you look in this group's Files section for?/g/ic7000/files/7K%20GROUNDING%20FINGERS%20.doc?there is a picture of what it should look like.
I could not find an icom part # for that spring.? It is different than the others used in the unit.? I doubt that it is critical, given the large ground plane in that area that is screwed to the metal chassis. Steve, W3AHL |
