Trump can do us a favor by shutting down the government
In December 2018 the government shutdown caused a drop in the stock market. Among other effects this lowered the balance in my IRA on January first 2019 SO my RMD was less~! Ha~! The market recovered over time, but my Required Minimum Distribution had already been determined. Now year end is coming up again, and I'm calling on ya, Trump~! Do this "tax cut" for us old gray-haired seniors!

http://www.pionline.com/article/20180228/ONLINE/180229837/ibm-dials-up-400-million-contribution-for-non-us-plans-in-2018 "Most of the contributions will go to pension plans in Japan, Spain and the U.K., according to the filing. The company contributed $638 million to the non-U.S. plans in 2016. IBM does not plan to make any contributions to the U.S. plans because it's not legally required. No contributions to those plans were made in 2017."

True Blue mini-Ginnis
I cannot help being reminded of this term I learned about a while back: TBmG(True Blue mini-Ginnis). I watched the replay of the Jim Cramer interview of Ginni Rometty on his Mad Money show a couple of days ago. Behind them was a room filled with TBmGs. Of course Ginni did not call them that. She called them "New Collar Skills of the Future."
?
She also said "50% of IBM is millennials that are here."
?
She further explained: "So you change the design thinking, you-- put them on ag...ile, which is co-location. Change the tools. Multidisciplinary. Minimum viable products. Small teams. And then you give them contemporary tools, co-location. So that's what you're seeing here. And, boy, we've been at that. We've done this to workspaces in 300 places around the world."
?
Her final words of wisdom: "This IBM will change the world one more time."
?
Disclaimer: I am not a millennial nor a New Collar Skill nor a TBmG.

This Is Why IBM's Revenue Fell Short
The closing of a few major deals were delayed, pushing revenue into the future. The second half looks better for Big Blue.

Yahoo No Longer Provides Support for Yahoo Groups
Yahoo confirmed that they no longer provide support for Yahoo
Groups. A comment was posted by a Yahoo Customer Care representative that makes
this point clear:
“Customer
Care no longer provides support for Groups (at all) and that extends to the
community since 'they' aren't providing the resources needed to make that a
supportable forum. Our team is only 7 people and the company's focus is Mail
and Sports.” Posted by ADMIN EchoSanders 2/27/17 10:56AM

Tax Levy For IBM’s Decade of Employee Offshoring?
Copy of message first posted on https://www.facebook.com/watchingIBM/
“I am asking that this message get posted anonymously in as
many forums as possible. I have read this morning that Donald Trump plans to impose
a 35 percent tax on companies that cut American jobs and then relocate these
jobs in other countries. Trump has been critical of IBM for laying off
500 workers in Minneapolis and moving their jobs to India and other countries. Trump
may not be aware that IBM has been doing this for over a decade. I know many
people who were laid off with a severance package that required them to first
train replacements from India how to do their job. I have read that this
approach was used in hundreds of cases in many US locations. Many people have
stated this in the IBM Yahoo groups for many years. What about all of these
past firings? Will there be some tax levied against IBM or some payment to the
fired employees for this practice used over the last decade? I hope so…”
