Re: Hello there! question about the group and about etching with naoh + hcl
The homebrewpcbs group did migrate from Yahoo! to groups.io; welcome. NaOH is not at all like bleach (NaOCl) - and I would not try anything that releases the Cl as a gas! It is very dangerous. There

So how it comes you can see on the video it strips all the copper from it?

Re: Hello there! question about the group and about etching with naoh + hcl

Hello there! question about the group and about etching with naoh + hcl
Hi guys, I wonder if this is same as the yahoo groups that have been ported? Anyways, I'm new to the list, Hi! I watched the following video from

Re: Board holder design for SMD boards
Thanks. It does indeed work, since I just put parts on a board using that same holder. A slight redesign would make the 3D printed arms a bit wider. The nuts are captive in the plastic. Harvey

Re: Soldering Stations
Based on the Pace soldering stations we have at work, I will never by a Pace. The connector is very cheaply built and requires cleaning fairly regularly. Because of the construction, they are

Hi Harvey, ? I just checked out the images of the board holder. Looks pretty good. Thanks, Dave

Re: Soldering Stations
One thing that sold me on the original Metcals was I could solder a wirewrap wire on a penny effortlessly even with a fine tip. Now I get tips for them that are not rohs temps. Rohs tips run hotter

Re: Soldering Stations
In my career I have worked for companies with a variety of soldering stations, but most of them were the Weller WTCP style. I think that one of the reasons for their choosing that station was the fact

Board holder design for SMD boards
I've finished a simple design for PC board holders for use with a microscope. It's pretty rigid, and does not rotate. It's made of 2020 aluminum extrusion and corner brackets. These are available

Ah, ok. I tend to use amazon, which has a more limited selection but guarantees your satisfaction. I've returned some things ranging from DC voltage converters (packed loose in a box, broke the

Hello Harvey, Sunday, March 24, 2019 OKI tips on Ebay are often counterfeit, but in my experience in light usage they seem OK, not sure how they'd last in a commercial environment. If I were

Yes, partially used... as long as no contaminants have been introduced... and that's trivially easy to avoid. I didn't say zero loss on standing; I said, "loss of strength by 1% in a year wouldn't

Re: Preparing Cupric Chloride Etching Solution
Yes, I noticed that too. Plastic will work so that is what I will use. I have to keep reminding myself I am a noob and don't have a lot if any boards to etch yet. I got my laminator modded and then

Re: Bubble Tank DIY Plans
I may just keep my bottle of ferric chloride for a souvenir. For sure I am going with the HCI and peroxide for starters. I may as well make the cupric chloride for my first batch too. Thanks

Re: Bubble Tank DIY Plans
Even if I don't try ferric chloride that was a good read. I have a few large sheets of copper for metal crafting that could use some patina. :) Thanks

Re: Preparing Cupric Chloride Etching Solution
Definitely you also want a one way valve in the air line. Keeps etchant from getting out into the environment by syphoning when the airline is disconnected. Harvey
