the gain from the XB2 is pretty high, It should be fairly loud. But really its dependant on the gig. With any Leslie once you get past a couple of hundred people you are going to need to mic the Leslie up. Although your Leslie is pretty high wattage, its the combined output of all channels including the straight channel...so in reality you are using, say, 60 Watts of the total power!....maybe that's why you cant get enough volume?
?
There are internal variable resistors in the XB2 that would give you more gain, but you need to know what your doing before you start poking around with a screwdriver in there. I can give you the number and location of them, but they are factory set..and should work fine as they are.
?
Lastly, there are also menu driven volumes on the XB2...I know from experience using it in a midi environment with certaion non general midi controllers can turn them down.

i also am a new group member---- can someone tell me how i can get more
volume out of my xb2-- i have it hooked to a 822 leslie-- and yes - i have
tried running it through a leslie preamp also---still the same---- i would
much rather play my 58 b3 but the xb2 with the 822 is much easier to move---
