question for a math genius.
Belive it or not in high school while everyone else was taking math classes I was in band. Now when I need math skills I don't have any. I'm stuck trying to keep the grade on the new "helix" at 2%. can anyone calculate how many lineal feet I need to run to rise 16 inches at 2%. I'd really appreciate it.

[hamlin_trains] question for a math genius. 3
I forget what Mike O'brien answered, but it is roughly 66 feet 8 inches. What radii do you plan? You might be able to change the percentage, to a lesser grade, if that is a consideration. Paul Catapano

question for a math genius.
Lloyd; yes the design is ready. It is three climing loops each leg is 144 inches in length with 24 inch radius curves at each end. This should keep the grade well under 2%.

question for a math genius.
It has to fit within the existing legs holding up the layout which are 52 inches apart. and 144 inches long to allow acess to the back of the DCC rack.

See THIS message from Feld Entertainment, Inc., parent company of Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey: From: Shannon, Michael Sent: Friday, November 04, 2011 11:56 AM To: EVERYONE Subject: Circus Alert: "Jim Moran Bill" Importance: High CIRCUS ALERT: November 4, 2011 Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Under Attack – Congressman Moran attempts to outlaw circuses As members of our Feld Entertainment family and friends, we wanted to update you on recent events in Congress. Congressman Jim Moran (D-VA) has introduced legislation that outlaws the transportation of animals and targets circuses. This legislation would make it impossible for Ringling Bros. or any other circus to continue to operate with such animals. As a result, this bill would jeopardize more than 750 Feld Entertainment jobs that are directly tied to Ringling Bros., including 250 located in Moran’s district. The company issued a press statement that you can read by clicking here: http://www.feldentertainment.com/Press/P...x?id=55873 Ringling Bros. has been entertaining and creating special memories for over 140 years. We look forward to continuing to bring The Greatest Show On Earth to families throughout the United States, but we need your help to make sure this family tradition continues. We need your help! Please click the following link to oppose this bill: http://www.ringling.com/Legislative/ Feel free to forward this email to friends, family members, business associates, circus fans and others you think would be interested in supporting the circus.
