Winter Field Day 2025
Greetings, Hambuds!
?
?? Winter Field Day is coming, Jan. 25 - 26, 2025.? I have not made reservations for the Railroad Pavilion yet, and would like to know who is interested in operating next year.?
?
?? For ARRL Field Day last June, we had only two operators working at a time.? While it was nice to see everyone visiting on Saturday evening, I am not sure if it's worth reserving the pavilion for the weekend ($100 per day) for only two operators.? Personally, I would like to have three (3) operators working at the same time, so we need several people to commit for working Winter Field Day. Of course, offers to help set up and take down antennas are always welcome.
?
?? A second option is to reserve the pavilion only for Saturday, and have everyone visit on Saturday evening or late afternoon similar the ARRL Field Day.? We may be able to leave our antennas up and operate on Sunday, just not reserve the pavilion and share it with others (mostly the cricket crowd).
?
?? Another option is to not reserve the pavilion, and everyone operate Winter Field Day from their home, and assign the points to Hambuds.? If anyone wants to operate from the park, that would be fine, but the club would not have the pavilion exclusively.
?
?? Please share your thoughts, ideas, and if you are willing to operate at the park for Winter Field Day.
?
Thanks, and 73,
Tim L.

开云体育Hi Tim and everyone, I just got back from a long weekend at Big Bend Ranch State Park so am only now getting to respond to this. I would like to operate and I can provide a donation as well to
pay for the pavilion.?? I don't mind staying overnight (I will need to sleep :-) ) but I need to come up with something that is acceptable to the park and does not involve my sleeping in my car again :-) Thanks and 73, Marc On 11/6/24 17:19, Tim N5TML wrote:
