¿ªÔÆÌåÓýThanks, Peter! ? I¡¯ll try the workarounds, however I am looking forward to what you will come up with for the next release! ? 73s ? Joachim ? Von: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] Im Auftrag von G8JCF ? Hi Joachim |
Hi Joachim
Understand about the frequency dial issue. For fixed frequency CW stations, eg RWM and NDBs, I use USB, and set the dial frequency to the official frequency -500Hz, so that the signal falls at 500Hz tone, and the frequency calculation is kept very simple. U've got me thinking about CW; I think it's time I put proper CW demodulation support into the G8JCFSDR; I'll see what I can do for the next release, in the meantime, hopefully one of these work arounds will? be good enough :-) 73 Peter - GM8JCF |

¿ªÔÆÌåÓýThanks very much, Peter, for your quick and detailed reply. ? Of course you are absolutely right and one can use USB and respective filter settings to make the CW signal audible, however, you always have to cope with the USB filter offset and can¡¯t really dial to the exact upper or lower offset frequency of an NDB. ? Nevertheless I will try the way you described plus I had forgotten about mirror mode for the notch filter which I have to test. ? Thanks again. ? 73s ? Joachim ? Hi Joachim
The DRT1 is really excellent as U know !! To receive CW with the G8JCFSDR, select USB mode, select 2.2KHz bandwidth, tune in the CW signal, so that its tone is around 800Hz or whatever U find comfortable. Then if U want to narrow the bandwidth for improved CW signal, select 400Hz bandwidth and then use your mouse scrollwheel to adjust the "HF Cutoff" from the default 600Hz to say 900Hz, and also adjust the "LF Cutoff" to say 700Hz, ie the passband is now 200Hz wide, U can of course narrow the passband right down but I find the resulting tone quite "fatiguing" for long tertm listening. ![]() Hope this helps. Up until your post, I've never had a request for a specific CW mode, and I've on the very rare occassion that I've listened to CW just used USB mode, and sometimes the Notch filter in mirror mode. 73 Peter - GM8JCF |

Hi, list,
I've owned a DRT-1 back in 2007 and successfully used it together with the G8JCF-SDR-software. I sold it half a year later and was regretting that soon. When I found a cheap DRT-1 on ebay some months ago I bought it. Now here's my question: I have to admit I haven't read through each and every topic but is there a reason why no CW-mode has been implemented in the software. I am trying to listen to beacons in the NDB-band and if you are going to a very narrow bandwidth, AM is no longer usable. Any information appreciated. Thanks very much in advance. 73s Joachim |
