Hello Howard, thanks for the warm welcome by club members at the meeting last Monday, I am sorry we over ran but I wanted to be sure and cover all questions that were raised. I did exchange emails with Trevor last Monday, and I trust he has conveyed my thanks to members already.
?
I did indeed take away a number of points that I have started to work on, but if you or the members see anything missed off or want to follow-up in the meantime do please let me know.
?
The points I have to work on are;
?
RSGB Membership.
Keith 2E0KJA, recounted receiving a welcome letter from the RSGB containing details of setting up a Foundation licensee’s station, but that the document contained errors. Is this letter still sent out?

Training and exams.
It was reported that MYARS is not listed on the RSGB website under training clubs. Current listing to be checked, and to confirm with club they have received logon account for updating this information.
?
The club appears not to have ported their information across onto the new RSGB webpage. Account login details were sent to '22, Plains Ave', late last year. An email is being sent from HQ to Howard with the login details for updating the required information. Action closed.
?
Club activity.
The members discussed their contest activity last year, shared with other clubs at Capel-le-Firth. Question raised over RSGB insurance cover for non members attending such events. To confirm the extent of insurance cover.
?
Public liability is that for 3rd parties, the RSGB insurance has an extension that covers member to member liability also.?Action closed.
?
It was stated that during the 2011 VHF NFD, the station G5LK deliberately interfered with the Maidstone clubs signal by transmitting carriers, because they were using the same locator, correctly. To confirm whether it was reported to the contest adjudicator.
?
OFCOM licensing.
Urwin raised the matter of licence revalidation, which he said was confusing on the OFCOM website and appeared not to be working. To confirm if this is a general issue.
?
Band interference.
Some members living near to Kent Police HQ in Sutton Rd, Maidstone, reported that broad based interference appears to emanate from their communications centre, and can radiate onto 11m and 2m. Self to raise with?EMC coordinator for comment.
?
Email sent to EMC coordinator asking for any information of known cases around such environments, and specific information required to trace and identify these signals.
?
Planning control.
Discussion led into suggesting a working party / local club to enter discussions with councils to draft a planning application template, aligned to approved planning consent. Reference was made to believed blanket approval for CB and satellite installations in Suffolk. Does such approval exist?
?
Email sent to Suffolk DRM for information about potential approvals that might help amateurs.
