Dear club contacts, the following email relates to a consultation document that Ofcom have released, referring to proposed new regulation for control of interference during the Olympics.

Further to my recent email regarding 70cm restrictions during?the run up to,?the actual Olympics, and the following?mop up period, Ofcom have today?announced an extra new draft Criminal Prosecution Regulations?with?Protection radii around event zones. See
?
It is imperative that all Radio Amateurs using 70cm Band are fully conversed with these new regulations. You are advised to download the "Full Print Version" and read these new regulations very carefully.?We can expect zero tolerance of non-compliance from Ofcom and the Authorities during the Olympics.

As Club? Chairman i feel it is my responsability to draw attention to this document.? Is there anyone out there who has a day or two to read this in detail.? i have given it a quick glance and come up with the following:

Ofcom have given themselves the power to prosecute any one causing interfereence at frequencies up to (and probably including) 3000GHz.

If anyone can find a better interpretation to this would they please let me know ASAP.
