Club Net - Currently Discontinued

Hi All - In all that went on last night I never got the chance to update everybody regarding the Club Net - which used to appear on 145.2125 ( MB7IMS ) at 20:00 on Thursday nights. For the last four weeks no actual current members of the club showed up. Therefore I will not be running a net until there is a proven requirement.
? ? ?However, there will remain a net between Paul M0PMC & myself starting at 21:00 with a CQ call on 145.500 followed by QSY. Keith 2E0KJA is with us most weeks & we have had a real variety of stations joining in from the local area. PLEASE don't think that you have little to say - Paul, Keith & myself have plenty to say for ourselves & you would probably be surprised how often you will will find topics raised on which you have particular?experience or just opinions.
? ? ?So, sadly,?farewell club net as run from this QTH - But I extend a warm invitation to?join?us from 21:00.

Keith Anderson

Hi all

If anyone wants to turn up tonight, please do, I have a key and will be attending. I've been waiting for a call back from Brian (keeper of coffee cups) before I input this message. He's just rang and won't be attending tonight, so therefore bring your own liquid refreshments.

So far David and myself will be there along with possibly Ian (G4UAQ). Less chairs to put out :-)

Forthcoming events I know about

In response these are forthcoming events I know about, if anyone knows anything else let me know and perhaps we can get our events list back on track

1st and 2nd September SSB Field day, we are not entering this year but the HF bands will be busy this weekend if anyone wants to give away some points from home.

The exchange would be Report, Signal and Serial number.

Friday 12th October 10am Maidstone Services for Hope and Aid Convoy, should be approx 3 trucks to set radios on.

Prob looking at mid october to do talk on RF earthing and PME supplies.

anyone else got anything there prepared to do a talk on?

? ? ? ?When we left after the last meeting there was the?customary ' see you next week ' - I think we all forgot it was a Bank Holiday. However, we met on the last Bank Holiday ( it was Alex's lecture on valves ). The website has no information to impart. Thus I ask IS there a meeting tonight or not ?.?

I wont be there, Ian, but as long as someone has a key to get in, those who want to can.
?
However, this does demonstrate that our club organisational structure is really pretty dire; we have little-or-no communications from the Secretary, the committee haven¡¯t met for a long time and consequently we drift about like a cork on the ocean because nobody knows what we¡¯re doing from one week to another. This might not bother members who just ¡°live around the corner¡±, but it¡¯s 23 miles from my house, and I¡¯m rapidly losing interest in coming over anymore.

I'm currently writting the talk on rf earthing and pme supplies with reference to exactly what a pme supply is and how it works, will also explain tt, tns and tncs supplies, also explain how a rcd works.
we did itemise the club equipment
i agree the website is out of date
the club hf rig is setup and working if you wish to play with it. also the ft726 on 2m ssb or fm
i understood we agreed not to meet bank holidays

Interesting questions indeed, Alex.
Whilst I can confirm that I did spend an evening at the hut recently trying to itemise the whereabouts of all our equipment, unfortunately, regarding the other questions, I don't know any more than you do....

As a paid up member I would like to know what is happening at the club. I do not attend on club nights as I do not know what is on. I am not prepared to do at least a twenty mile round trip just to sit and rag chew all the time. (My attendant/XYL can only spend so much time in Tescos.)

There has been some talk of a lecture on electrical safety. Had a date been fixed?
An AGM must be overdue.
The club website has not be updated since May and there is nothing shown since the end of July. (Not a good advertisement.)
An audit of club equipment was called for some years ago. Does anyone know what equipment the club owns and where it is?
Is there any practical training on HF equipment on-air use?
Does the club meet on Bank Holidays?

Alex.
