Relays for sat station
Hi everyone.? Many of you know I operate remotely. I’m currently building a remote sat station that needs 2m and 70cm. I am using an SDR play for receive, streamed over a raspberry pi server. Some sats are 2m up and 70cm down and others are vice versa. This means I need to remotely swap over the antennas between tx and rx.? This is where the Clifton connection comes in. G0DCG gave me his venerable 2m valve amp with a 4CX150 many years ago. I never got it going, but the coaxial transfer relay ended up in my box of useful bits. It’s now been pressed into service in this project. Thanks Martin!? The attached photo shows the SDR rx, relay, 28V relay driver board and a preamp bias T all in one badly built box. Last place in the Clifton club construction contest this year.? cheers |

I can rustle up a second entry. This weekend I finished my receive antenna sharing and control system. The uses a raspberry pi and set of relays to provide browser control for the GB2GP receive antennas. Two stations can choose any antenna, including sharing with3db loss. It includes further bias T for preamps on some systems as the NW beverage has 500m of coax. This has 5db insertion loss on 160m!!!! 73 |
