I have the assembly and, it passes the visual inspection - no leakage or swelling. I also have the W4RT companion one fast charger. However, I am reluctant to attempt charging NiMH batteries this old. (War stories?)

I recently acquired an FT-817, and wanting to replace the old W4RT battery, I went with HQRP, which fits perfectly.?

I charge it off a 13v power supply, and haven't noticed any problems or overheating.?

I wired an inexpensive meter in line purchased off Ebay for about $5.00. With the charge time set to 10 hours, it shows about 280ma.?

While I haven't taken it into the field yet, the rig appears to be functioning ok on my desk putting out a solid 5 watts off the new battery.?
