I broke my ATAS-120A

 

Anybody have any information on how to dismantle, clean and re-assemble a ATAS-120A?? I broke mine off the mount and I want to repair it.

There are several quite good teardown videos on YouTube. I can't look right now but I'm sure you can Google them no problem. The most fiddly part is lining up the ball bearings so that they don't fall out when reassembling. I recall using a tiny blob of petroleum jelly to hold them in place when I had an issue with mine. Take your time with it and I'm sure you will be fine.

There are a lot of guides on the WWW. Take a look at my Google search of YAESU ATAS REPAIR......



I have recently repaired an ATAS where the guide bar was bent after a user twisted the whole unit.
You need three hands and patience, but no special skills.
