A question,,,,It does, better or less per frequency in use. Would a length of braided copper grounding cable do the same thing ?Yes. So can copper tape. In other words, could a piece of braided copper grounding cable actYes. but substitute for a very long piece of wire ?eh? Configured how? What is visualised here? MF/HF or VHF+? Please no computer calculations and graphics that get into the weeds.Roger. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Posted by: captrjbowen@...------------------------------------------------------------------------ 73, John VA7OTC |
开云体育Reason I ask is that I want to use on sailboat. Tried last summer but not much for results. Vhf 2m ok with stock antenna. Wish to try this next summer with EFHW up mast vertically.? Usually I have it at home with tuner and EMCOMM 61 ft horizontal antenna andwith large awg cable to ground spike. 开云体育Here we go again. ? PEOPLE - a 61 ft antenna is not an EFHW.? It is a random wire!? It would be an EFHW at about the 16m band, and nowhere else. ? Although I know it is lost on many people, there is a difference between an End Fed Random Wire and an End Fed Half-Wave.? Unless you are transmitting on the 16m band, a 61 ft wire is not an EFHW. ?
