Options available?

¿ªÔÆÌåÓý

I asked this question earlier but never heard a peep back. Anyone aware of what options will be offered in connection with the 817? Battery, DSP, filters? Anyone looked into this? I saw the 817 at Yaesu's booth at Pacificon and I remember the rep telling me something about a NiCad battery option, but I wasn't listening too sharp -- I kept being distracted by the rig. Sure would be nice if there was a DSP option.

There are optional 2.3kHz and 500Hz filters available, as well
as a temperature controlled oscillator. The battery is a
9.6V/1000 mAh pack.

I'm not aware of a DSP option.

Is there any reason why we would not want to buy 1600 mAH NiMh AA batteries
instead? Sounds like more capacity

It is, Pres. Everything I own that is battery operated runs off those
MaHa 1600ma NiMH batteries. HTs, Digital Camera, GPS, FRS radio, Remote
Controls... I even replaced the 700maH nicads in my solar powered pathway
lights this week and they stayed lit all night.
