Thank you very much for your enquiry regarding NEW YEASU Performance 'FT-817'...
First at all, we have noticed from Yaesu Corporation that they will put FT-817 by the end of this mounth
in Japan. Couple days ago,We have informed that the retail price is 79,800YEN including the rubber duck
(50,144,430MHZ in one piece).
Unfortunatly, we had no chance to test this rig yet, but we believe that FT-817 is as well as FT-100 or
little bit better.
The battery is UM-3(LR-6) type and it needs 8 pieces(DC12V).
Battery consumption by RX is 0.48A and TX is 1.8A/h.
Regarding the connector, both SO239 and BNC cover the all band and each connector is programmable
in the rig.
The phone output level is lower than speaker level.
Yes.your are right. The digital mode on PSK31 is workable on both SSB and FM mode.
Since reliese this new portable rig, there is great impact on the amatuer radio market and we have already
a lot of purchasing reservation from our great cosutomers.
Please feel free to contact us, if you and your friends are thinking to buy this 'NEW MODEL'
We are sure that we can offer you the best price.
?
Sincerely yours

Hello, Thank you for pictures of Ft817 on ur website its given the western world the only info on the rig. Could you tell me what your overall impressions of the rig is ? whats the performance compared to the FT100 / IC706IIG receiver wise ?
How is the overall battery consumption rx/tx?
Does the bnc and SO239 cover all bands on both front and rear ?
is the rubber duck in one piece ?
Is the SP/PH SP-PH socket an equaliser between headphones and external speaker ?
Does the Digital mode on PKS31 also work on ssb /fm speech rx ?
Sorry lots of questions ,? Thanks for a great information outlet
