Re: Power bank questions

Two ordinary 5 volt power banks of sufficient ah ratings wired in series creates 10 volts which is about the ideal voltage for the radio.

There is USB-C, the connector standard, and USB-C PD which supports higher voltages and current ratings (like charging laptop batteries).

If I understand the OP's desire, he wants a power bank that outputs proper voltages for both their cellphone and their FT-817.

TalentCell has some interesting power banks, like this:

But this particular model lacks a high-current/high-voltage USB-C PD port...

Personally I'd prefer something like this:
?
- A Bioenno 9 Amp LiFePO4 battery & charger (still on BOGO at $115 plus shipping for TWO batteries and TWO chargers)
?
- This PowerWerx USB-C QC adapter: $30
?
- A powerpole panel mount to power the FT-817
?
- A small Harbor Freight case, like this:
?
Yes, that takes you to $200, but if you can find a friend to split the BOGO deal on the battery, you're now under $150 for a great, robust power solution.
?
Hope this helps,
