Table extensions on a BF6

I'm thinking that I could use some table extensions on my BF6, especially when ripping narrow boards which don't reach to the sliding table and 'fall' down the gap between the sliding table and the planer tables.

Felder wants ?175 for cast iron table to go on the dovetail (S connection?). It's only half a meter long and 140mm wide.

Anyone made one from aluminium extrusion or steel box?

Morning Richard?
I bought two of them in about 2000 and they are very useful for many operations both on the infeed side and out feed on the saw and planer, think I actually paid about ?196 each then, I’d recommend you stump up the money for them!
I have however finally built an outfeed table from 1” marine ply and covered in Formica, it’s 50” long and as wide as I could make it.... best thing I ever made for the machine! I’ll take a picture for you!

Richard, your choices will largely determined by whether you are able to site the machine in a semi permanent position, in which case a long fixed table is by far the best solution.
You can also conveniently put some storage in the end if you have the space and its long enough to leave you with good access to the height adjustment to read the clock.
If your circumstances require mobility then the cantilevered extensions offer you speed and flexibility, the supported extensions are also relatively speedy.

Once again its horses courses but from experience the small tables will be worth the pain of the cost.

I'd love to see the picture too.?

hmmm, I'll have a think. I was also thinking about just having a roller either on it's own stand or on some form of attachment.

My machine is not fixed in place yet as I haven't got started with any sort of work flow.

We’ve got a flood warning out at the moment so I’ve had to prepare, so it’s all covered in the latest job. I’ll post some picks ASAP!
Thought of an adjustable roller as well but when I investigated the options I wasn’t impressed with the cheap Chinese options and the better options are megabucks. My table cost nothing as it came from items left over from other jobs! Space was also an issue for me and this folds flat and disappears against a wall! Formica is also super slippery and doesn’t have a tendency to steer the work away from the direction I want the work to go in!
On the whole I’m very happy with it!
A few years ago I bought a trend pro router table and let my shop made variant go with a small combination machine I’d sold to make more room!
I really miss that total control it gave me with no fight to keep it against the fence or jamming under the pressure from the feather boards!
