RL-125: What does this do?

PCG

I've had this RL-125 for 15 or 16 years and I want to know what does this adjust?
I have not changed the setting, but if I did, what will change?

Thanks in advance,
Phil

I believe that is a sensor that works to tell you when the filter needs to be cleaned. When the pressure sets it off, the light above the power switch will turn on to tell you the filter needs to be cleaned/changed.?

That is my understanding too:

When the pressure difference between the inside and outside is above (or lower, not sure) your setting, the light goes on. I am not sure if this is really working on my RL140 as the light never came up. Now, as a hobbyist the daily manual cleaning when I used it might be overkill.

However, on your picture you have only one pipe for air pressure, it looks like you are missing one. I have two on my RL140.

I have not investigated this but from reading the posts here the sensor is measuring the press difference above and below the filter. As filter gets plugged there is higher negative pressure above the filter. When the difference reached the set threshold light comes on.

The set point is given in the manual. You do have to keep in mind what HP motor you have to be sure you are reading the correct number. In my case, I have to interpolate as i have a bigger than std motor.

Imran, you should investigate this. ?

David,

Why don’t you just share what you know ?

Got new filter couple of days ago. So I will be getting more intimate with the RL125 than I care.

I almost want to buy a Anemometer to see if there is a diff between new and old filter but I am just so tired of this non ending spending.

I have one as well? it's an hour meter.?? Ostensibly to assist? you in determing when to swap out the filters.?

I am however ignorant of how many? hours? a filter should be used.

There's a light.?? I suppose I should have read the manual.

I did try turning the dial to see what happens and the light will go on at lower settings.
So I decided to order a new filter since it's the original, although I have cleaned it many times.
The filter is not in stock here in the US. It will take four weeks to arrive.

Phil

Phil,

I ordered the filter for RL125 on 12/31. Eshop said out of stock but it came in a week or so. You can call your rep to confirm.
