K700S Power-Drive wont tilt
¿ªÔÆÌåÓýThe positioning system has probably convinced itself a fault condition exists, or the power supply to the servo motor has a blown fuse. ?I had this issue with my Kappa 400 (same tilt controls as your machine). ?Once the system faults, you have to manually apply 24V power to the servo motor to drive it out of the fault condition. ?After I did that and the machine power cycled, ?it was fine again. ?I was able to do this using a 18V battery from one of my cordless drills, but it was certainly a PITA. ?Felder service walked me through the process over the phone.David Best https://www.instagram.com/davidpbest/

Thanks for the reply, David. ?I did not have to go that far...I took a peek inside the machine and noticed 3 switches (blade door, and 2 blade height switches) were covered in dust, so i blew them off and gave them a few presses. ?Then I tried the tilt and it started working. ?Here's the weird part...those 3 switches should not effect on the tilt. ?i even tried tilting the blade while the blade door is open and it still tilts. ?A gremlin i suppose...who knows. ?All I know is it has worked all day today!?

I wanted to circle back on this to give everybody an update, in case anyone else comes across this issue. ? Well, the issue returned, literally out of nowhere...tilted fine one minute, then stuck at 20.5 degrees while I was trying to return it to zero. ?
I got back inside the machine, blew out all the dust from the switches, but no luck. ?I noticed there was a threaded coupler on one the cables coming out of the tilt mechanism linear actuator. ?The threaded coupler was loose, so i tightened it up and everything started working again. ?It's been fine for days, hopefully that was the problem. ?-Joe |
Joe Tedesco,
Has your saw still been tilting fine after this? ?When you said you looked in and saw the switches, is this through the back panel, opposite side of the chassis to expose these switches? I¡¯m having an issue with the quick switch that controls the rise and fall of the saw blade. ? Thx, Wade |
