AD-41 J/P, Sotps dead in the middle of a planner operation

It does not do it all the time but enough to really aggrivate. I am taking a typical light cut (.02" to .025"), planner table is clean ?and waxed, the feed is set to ?slow
and it will begin to sound labored and stop dead. Lower the table and start over with the same setting and all is well. My machine is a variable speed version.

Dino,

Are the blades sharp?

What happens if you increase the feed rate. Light cuts at very slow feed can dull the blades.

If you did not mention labored sound, I would have thought a limit switch or emergency stop circuit going bad.

Does the labored sound, sound like electric brake? That is another possibility.

Is it single phase?

it plugs into a single phase outlet but it has the variable speed option
