Airtight Clamps on a K700S
Hello FOG members, |
开云体育I installed them on my K700S last summer. ?Fantastic accessory that I would now consider essential.?As you can see I had to cut out some internal aluminum so make room for the fitting but it’s really no big deal to do. I just used a small sawsall, made several cuts and broke your the small pieces then cleaned up a little with a die grinder.? 开云体育Steve’s setup is identical to my mounting arrangement. ?His switches are different, but the air plumbing is the same.David Best https://www.instagram.com/davidpbest/

开云体育Mine are not Mac’s. I installed them a little different, my connector has a larger nut then the quick connects and would not fit on the left side (just barely, to close to take a chance) was even tight under the tee slot but works and yes easy to remove clamp as the fitting swivels. I never take them of anyway. Regards, Mark On Mar 16, 2022, at 8:39 PM, david@... via groups.io <david@...> wrote:

开云体育Steve, Thank you for the feed back. ?Wasn’t aware that cutting away some of the aluminum frame work was a necessary step. ?Wonder if this affects any warranty I have on the slider bed.? Wade On Mar 16, 2022, at 5:24 PM, Steve Lyde via groups.io <stlyde@...> wrote:

开云体育Mark Kessler, Thank you for sharing. ?Which brand are yours? ?Are your fittings also quick connect style? Thx, Wade On Mar 16, 2022, at 5:46 PM, Mark Kessler <mkessler10@...> wrote:

Wade, Mac’s clamps are an investment but it absolutely is the best accessory I have added. He will send you a drilling template for your model. Mine looks like Steve’s and David Best setup, the fitting don’t have any room to spare but did fit without cutting any webbing. Once you have the clamps you will wonder how you managed without them, I use them on most every cut.?

Wade, I did not have to notch out any aluminum to install mine. I have a Kappa so it might be different, but I don't think so. Mac makes a fine product, You might think its pricey but when you get them you will understand why. It is the best accessory I have ever bought. I was a little confused but Mac jumped on the phone with me and walked me through the install. You can't ask for more than that. Glen? ? ? Alpine Moulding and Millwork Inc. Mail: ?? P.O. My switch configuration is different and did not lend itself to the treatments I've seen before. So here is what I came up with, which worked out very well and didn't require anything other than drilling the end plates and the tray. - just in case anyone out there with my configuration is scratching their head, as I did for a while! |
K940s Lowered the handle and fit both connections on the right side. Added benefit, long t nuts can now slide directly in the end over the handle. These clamps are a must have for anyone impatient.

开云体育Not, if you use the shirt xcut fence and would like to leave that nut installed. I have changed handles on my clamp to cam type so now I just unscrew it - much faster than the original kip lever. I leave one nut in front and one behind the xcut nut. Should have shown some patience and not cut the handle, although it hasn’t affected anything. 开云体育Mike, Does your slider at least lock in the far pulled back position? ?What is the red band for under the black horse shoe handle? Thx, Wade On Mar 17, 2022, at 11:32 AM, Mike Bemis <Michaelsbemis@...> wrote:

开云体育Yep, familiar with them. ? I was just curious if Mike had that on his model slider as well. Thx, Wade? On Mar 17, 2022, at 2:02 PM, JP Rice via groups.io <jprphotos@...> wrote:

开云体育Mike, I see the slider lock lever adjacent to the table in your picture. Locate the two arrows on the slider and base and flip the lever inward. Bill Belanger On Thu, Mar 17, 2022 at 13:32 Mike Bemis <Michaelsbemis@...> wrote:

开云体育Mike, It may be different on your saw but besides std locking position I can also lock when the slider is fully out, as it would be for loading a sheet. It may not be the intended use but the Locking lever hits (IIRC) the front of the base extrusion under the slider. Imran On Mar 17, 2022, at 2:32 PM, Mike Bemis <Michaelsbemis@...> wrote:

Well that got more attention than anticipated.
1. Yes the slider will lock in 2 positions if the arrows are nicely lined up. Like threading a needle. 2. The red stripe is a reminder to not wrap my fingers under the slider in this lowered position. 3. Moving an air clamp over will interfere with the overhead guard if I interpret the suggestion correctly. I like the idea of a tiny cylinder or two in the lower slider that press up under the table to lock it in? Imran can even make a remote for it…In Mauve.? 4. Why are the comatic feeders such an ugly color? 5. The long T nut accessory over around 4” wouldn’t slide in over the handle (see Imran’s photo showing the cut notch). I posted a 3D printed?insert to use festool clamps prior to getting Macs clamps. -- Mike B |
