Remote Start Switch suddenly stopped working on K700s

 

The remote start switch for the saw suddenly stopped working on the k700S making panels hard to cut because i can hardly reach? the start switch on the side that does work.? Any advice as to where to begin troubleshooting or things i should try?? I removed cover plate and discovered it appears to be wireless?? Anyway? any help would be greatly appreciated. Its is a 2012 machine that has been trouble free up till now.? Thanks

If you are speaking of switch on slider it’s most likely time to replace battery. Can’t help you more as I do not have it.

i am speaking of the switch on the slider ...any hints to where the battery is??

the battery is under the cover on the end of the slider, underneath.??

So I am to understand that the remote blade start switch that is located at the end of the slider (option from Felder) is wireless and battery operated?? If so, is that not a safety issue as what if the battery is bad/switch fails when one is trying to turn the blade off?

Not an issue, the stop on the newer saws is 24v run via the rail, only the start is remote. This was implemented due to eu rules that require a stop where there is a start (or something like that) to older saws only had start

On mine, I have separate main blade and scorer. I can only start remotely either one but cannot stop from there. However, there are 3 stops available for me as I am processing. One is at the near end of the saw, one at the saw specific controls, and the other at the shaper. Haven’t found it to be anything I’m worried about. If you swing by I can show you.?

You still have other stop switches, at least on the models I am familiar with, along with the emergency stop.

It took me nearly 20 yrs to learn that I can stop the saw with shaper stop button ???

thanks so much fellas ...i had overlooked? the cover plate in the back of the slide and lo and behold there was a battery there....popped a new one in and voila!!!?? thanks again!!!!!
