CF 741 Not Starting Up

Newish owner here.? After a few weeks of not being able to start the saw, it did start recently, but now it's back to not starting.? LED panel comes on.? Tried disconnecting / reconnecting power of course.? ?The yellow light referenced in the manual is not on.
?
Suspecting the red cutoff button malfunction.? I would like to access the button connection to diagnose or try bypassing it, but can't figure out how to get at it without taking the whole machine apart.? Does anyone have experience removing this button / panel?? Thanks!
?

Have you double checked all of the safety switches to make sure they are making contact?

As Andy said, first check the micro switches on the lockouts. There should be one that is activated by the cover that slides back to access the blade, and the lock for the spindle moulder (make sure the cover is slid all the way back across to the left to ensure the switch is in the right position). There is also one that is activated by the jointer beds & by the dust hood/guard when in thickness planer mode. On my newer model CF741 the micro switch is behind a cover plate.
I was recently looking at something under the planer side of the machine. A few minutes later, i went to do some work on the shaper, and couldn't even raise the spindle to set things up! My initial reaction was, oh brother, here we go. This is why i didn't go with power rise/fall/tilt etc. on all aspects of the machine. This of course, was at the end of the day on a Friday, & my plan was to get all the shaper work done over the weekend. :( After a minute of scratching my head though, i finally decided to check all the E-Stops, and sure enough, i had bumped the E-Stop button on the planer/thicknesser when looking under the machine. After resetting it, i was back up and running! ?. My point is, any lockout, including the E-Stops, will lock out the whole machine.

Bryce

Thanks all, just wanted to say I appreciate the replies, but didn't get time to give it another look over yet. I had checked safety switches, but it's very possible I missed something.? I will give it another look this week and report back.

I have only seen couple of machines (IIRC, both with inverters) where the yellow light is not an indicator of safety circuit. So if the yellow light does not come on with shaper selector switch in reverse than very likely one of the micro switches or a red switch is open. If you share a schematic, I can confirm that the yellow light is a good indicator or not.

You said that the saw does not start, can you start the shaper or J/P?
