Re: Another extension cord question.

¿ªÔÆÌåÓý

Michael, I do this in my shop, by choice. All my outlets are congregated next to the electrical board. Then I have extension cords in appropriately sized flex, and run these at the ceiling and zip tied to extraction runs.?

I like this installation method for two reasons: it¡¯s cheaper as the electrician can wire up outlets side by side with a minimum of fuss, materials and labour. And while the flex extensions and plugs on either end aren¡¯t cheap, it means I can easily move my machines around and not worry about outlets being in the wrong place.?

Warm regards,

Wire is wire, make your own extension cords in the appropriate gauge. I have wired a pig tail on a couple machines and share one big extension cord. If cost is a real concern maybe you could share just one extension cord till you move.

Re: Router Spindle

Hi Bill,

I've got a 424-111 (I don't remember the number but that must be it) that I no longer need. I bought it for my 2012 CF741 combo. I eventually sold that machine and bought separates, including a Profil45 and I had to buy a different router spindle for it. The spindle is as good as new with little use (I'm a hobbyist). There are no collets because I use them on my new machine. but they're not expensive. I'd sell it for half price, plus a few bucks for shipping. Give me a call if you'd like, 801 647-2919

It would appear that Felder has changed the remote start setup - at least for the USA. ? ?My Kappa 400 xMotion has two green ON buttons for remote start - one for the main saw blade, a second one for the scoring saw. ? This photo is taken from the Felder video on their web site documenting the remote start switches, and my Kappa 400 is exactly like this, and both buttons trigger the start function wirelessly:

<screenshot_2999.jpeg>

On that same web page is a photo that documents a START and a STOP button, and a couple of users here have confirmed their machines are configured in this manner:

<screenshot_2996.jpeg>

I appears the single start switch turns on both the main saw blade AND the scoring unit, which would drive me absolutely crazy, since my scoring saw automatically elevates into position when turned on. ? I may be misinterpreting this and would love to hear from a user with the newer style remote if that single switch does in fact fire up both saw and scoring units. ? ?If it does not, then do you still have to crawl under the plywood sheet mounted to the slider to start the scoring unit? ??

This seems illogical to me. ? Perhaps there is another switch somewhere that configures the single remote start button as to whether it starts only the main saw, or both the main saw and scoring. ? I would much rather have independent start buttons for ?saw and scorer than a stop button, since you can easily reach the stop switch on the face of the machine after cutting panel goods.

For decades Felder has maintained that putting a remote stop switch on the slider was not allowed by regulation since it was a wireless connection, and thus ¡°unsafe¡±. ? Now it appears, based on Mark¡¯s testimony, they have added a wired circuit at least for the STOP function. ? I wonder if this setup conforms to European regulations.

Having had the experience, I would go for a saw with a remote stop as it would be much more convenient (none of the stop switches are conveniently located when you are cutting big sheets).

Re: Vibrating cyclone filters clean

Ed,

I have used a 4" spare hose to recirculate from the cleanout port while running with success, but you have to have it directly on the port BEFORE you start the unit. However for cleaning the filters, I've found?it's better to leave the system powered down so the air pressure isn't pushing the dust against the filter media and instead drops to the bottom. Otherwise then it's just a quick swipe with the festool CTmidi with no risk of getting a facefull of dust the other way. :)

The unit is just mounts with a couple of 2" kreg screws and #8 washers on an eccentric to the filter housing, and the air line I installed a valve to easily kick on/off at intervals or when I notice the airflow decreasing. It's really only been an issue with this cyclone when we don't pay attention to the dust bin filling up and allow it to? overflow - but that's the biggest pain to clean up the filters and get running correctly again.

Neat idea. I wonder if it would help to shut all the gates and use a shop vac in the clean out port. Pulling a little air through the filters while it shakes loose might help. Would you mind posting a couple pics or a video of your install? I'm getting to mount my CV1800 soon and look for ideas on what others have done.
