Re: Shutter louver
I¡¯m sure someone makes the bar but I don¡¯t know who makes it. I had a local shop make mine. I¡¯m sure they can be painted. I think it would be unnecessary to paint them because they can barely be

Re: Shutter louver
I like the look of the hidden bar. Is there a company that makes the bar it white or paintable that would have some type of lever on it to move the shutters vs gabbing one of the louvers? wrote:

A week ago I bought a 2007 CF531 to join the Felder world. I contacted the Felder service department regarding manuals for it. I received a prompt reply the next morning asking the serial number which

Re: vacuum clamp to hold down parts for sanding/routing works well
The only issue is the narrowest piece you can clamp is about 2". With making your own like you did you can make a clamp to hold less than that. The LV units are made so you can use an air compressor

Re: Shutter louver
Thanks Marty. I figured but did not want to assume. Also was not sure if it is done on one or both sides. Looks like one side is all that is needed. Imran

Re: vacuum clamp to hold down parts for sanding/routing works well
I've using them for about 10 years. The company is Australian. They been brought up here over the years. The parent company asked if they could post a pic of one of my setups for use on a Festool MFT

Re: vacuum clamp to hold down parts for sanding/routing works well
I haven't tried them but I think they would work well.? The only reason I didn't buy them is I wanted additional attachment options and the money was better spent on raw materials.

Re: Shutter louver
Yes.? It works very well.? The sheet metal was stamped out like a series of the letter "P".? The center of the "P" had a hole for the screw .? The end of the louver, where the metal is attached,

Re: Shutter louver
Yes, it¡¯s called a hidden control arm. I show it being installed towards the back end of this video (I posted earlier) But here¡¯s a shorter one https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gLDgZBv8K7w

Re: Shutter louver
So in this design, you just physically move one louvre and sheet metal moves all in sync? Imran

Re: vacuum clamp to hold down parts for sanding/routing works well
As anyone tried these from Lee Valley? I was thinking about getting a pair. Mostly for sanding and edge routing. https://www.leevalley.com/en-ca/shop/tools/hand-tools/clamps/59743-vacuum-clamp-systems

Re: Shutter louver
I almost started a shutter company.? I bought the louver material because I didn't have a good dust/chip collection or the cutters.? I don't think I could have made the louvers much cheaper than I

Re: vacuum clamp to hold down parts for sanding/routing works well
I think the vacuum system would work for some fence applications but not all applications because 1) the roughness of the wood can affect the clamping force and 2) the clamping force will affect how

Let¡¯s see some pics of the pods close up. I¡¯d love to make some of those. I¡¯ve always thought about splurging on the festool set but always have better things to buy. This is just a wild thought
