Couple of examples. These are not related to the air leak, just examples of plastic parts breaking.

Re: What is the best dust extractor for portable tools?

PK,

Not sure what is wrong with the CT33, but from the spec they should be really close to the CT Midi in respect to performance.
CT midi - 130 cfm at 96¡± static water lift
CT33 - 134 cfm at 90¡± static water lift
maybe it worth sending the unit to Festool for repair.

I am not familiar with the other dust extractor, but I am really happy with the festool one.?
Especially when I have additional festool tools. The ecosystem works really nice (like pairing Bluetooth devices to the DE)

Re: Felder Shaper Fence - Readout / Eepeatability

Tom, thanks for the tip on ordering the T130 w/mm scale. I'll be ordering one with the side-mounted tenoning carriage at the end of the year and my quote specifies North American scales. I'm glad I saw your post because I've finally trained my brain to convert mm/inches. Having to convert decimals to fractions would have put me over the edge!

CF741S Combination Machine - Adjusting the Outfeed bed after cleaning and changing the Carbide Inserts - Cutterblock Silent Power

Good afternoon all,
?
I have just finished the process of cahnging the inserts for the first time, i.e location 2 on the intserts in line with the instructions of the Usage and Mainrance Manual and also reconfirming that the outfeed table is coplaner with the cutter block. Macine is 2022 build.
?
However I am seeing a snigificant change in run out, from 0 to 15mm which checking the level difference between the cutter and the bed.
?
This is fustrating as its causing a differing cutter shaving on the pieces being jointed.
?
Has anyone experienced this and are there any remidies other that trying to stick to consistant locations to pass the wood over/through the machine beds?.
?
Obiviously i have torques and cleaned all the inserts as per the manual and everything seemed ok during the process.
?
BTW - thank you David P Best for your unofficial survival guide for jointers, without it i do not this i would have the confidence to state the above while making the adjustements and using his calibration techniques.

I can tune the machine to make flat faces, come back to it the next day and have it produce either snipe (outfeed table too low) or taper (outfeed table too high). Honestly I have no idea what to try, adjusting it basically became a daily chore, which wastes time and material needed to tune it.
?
Any ideas what could be the cause and how to fix it?
?
Best regards,

Re: AD951 jointer snipe/taper issues

Hi Jakob,?
?
Do you have a sense of what is going out of alignment? In-feed table or out-feed table? If you don't already know, you may benefit from recording some data when you do get it dialed in (for instance out-feed position relative to cutterblock, planarity, etc...), so when the machine is observed to be out of alignment you can at least diagnose what's happening (are the tables still coplanar but one has dropped, are they going out of coplanarity, etc..).?
?
Is your Shop climate controlled? Is it drifting just being left overnight, or is it drifting when you're lifting the tables for thickness planing??

AD951 jointer snipe/taper issues

Hi there!
?
I have the AD951 machine, 2020 model and have trouble keeping jointer accurate.

I can tune the machine to make flat faces, come back to it the next day and have it produce either snipe (outfeed table too low) or taper (outfeed table too high). Honestly I have no idea what to try, adjusting it basically became a daily chore, which wastes time and material needed to tune it.

Re: Reset height adjustment AD741

Imran is correct, switch the machine to metric and plane a test piece 20.0mm thick, then press the reset button for 10 seconds. The machine is metric by design.
?
Once you change the machine back to Imperial it will be correct.
