Re: Felder Delivery, Finally
KRP,
It sounds like Felder arranged for the Flatbed / Forklift delivery.? Can you tell me what the cost was for this?? I'm trying to figure out how to transport a K700S for about 90 miles and the best recommendation I have received is to rent a drop-deck trailer.? At this point, the machine would not be insured during transit (which makes it somewhat of a $$$ risk). |
Re: Felder Delivery, Finally
This is how I decided to deal with figuring out shop layout. Took a few hours to look up all the specs in manuals and make the pieces, but I am finding it much easier to riff on layout options.
The other alternative, but would start costing you real money would be to use something like canvas.io to scan your workshop with all your tools and then get the cad drawings generated for you and play around with it in some modeling software. Just depends how deep you want to get in planning vs some basic planning plus trial and error execution.? |

As a hobby woodworker, the idea of a tool with 22 HP boggles the mind!
It is cool to get a glimpse of the commercial/industrial side of life, though. -- John Hinman Boise ID K700S and A941 |

10HP on a 43" sander? I can't imagine that being enough. My Sandya has a 22HP I believe.

Re: Suggested video - Thos. Moser of Maine
Mark Thomas,?
?????? Yes, I'm with you about the marketing aspects and the mumbo jumbo. Years ago I visited Taylor Guitars outside of San Diego.? They have a great tour and I would say they are even more reliant on CNC technology with only the edgebanding around the outside of the guitars done by a person with glue and masking tape. I have a Taylor guitar myself and I would say the craftsmanship is amazing.? So I guess the bottom line for me is that it's all about the quality, if it's there then you have a product that will last and increase in value. I do however think the amount of fine lumber that Moser uses is a bit scary.? I can only think it contributes to the decline in the quality of cherry and other species over time, but that's a whole other subject. |
Re: FS: Barth Accessories, Rack and Pinion
I was just thinking that these and other Barth products made for the Multipress can be used with Festool MFT with the 20mm holes if you can make or find a sleeve like the ones in the picture but with a smaller OD, or exchange the bolt on cylinder for a smaller one. ?
If the goal is to use them with the Multipress, ideal to have 4. ?If to use with a bench with perforated holes, maybe 2 would do it, depending on the application, ?Willing to sell them 2 for $960. |

Re: Felder Delivery, Finally
开云体育Kamal,Are you doing a machine lay-out in some tool? If so, if possible, share it. My shop is same size but my biggest hindrance are the 2 support columns (1 in particular) that restrict where I can place my slider. I see that you have some support columns as well. Good luck and have fun, Imran Malik On Dec 9, 2022, at 9:21 AM, KRPatel via groups.io <kamalsonal@...> wrote:

Re: Need advice re door construction
If you want to go triple use aluminium clad, two on the timber one on the aluminium.? With 3 seals. I've had clients in flood areas, outside water rose up 300mm on the? doors, and nothing came in. Kindest regards Jonathan Samways On Fri, 9 Dec 2022, 4:05 am imranindiana, <imranindiana@...> wrote:

开云体育You should check out the timesavers speed sander models. I have the 43” version 10hp 1ph and it works great. I’ve even sanded 40” wide slabs through it and 15’ countertops.? On Dec 8, 2022, at 8:27 PM, PK <pk@...> wrote:

I hope you have some good friends to help move things around. That's some heavy equipment. Don't reinjure your back!?
Out of curiosity, what size is your work space? Looks like it might be a garage, but I'm guessing you won't have much room for parking with all that equipment. |

Re: Need advice re door construction
Bird, I’m confused also. In my mind I was thinking triple but when I see a picture I believe it would be considered double?
This is a sample we made for a Alpine attendee last year. He wanted to build a 4” thick front door. We made these mock-ups using 92mm thick scantlings. The one on the right was made to use a Tectus type hinge but also what the meeting stiles might look like. We did this using the Multiuse cutter with a 4mm groover for the gasket. It was easy with only two passages on the shaper. To avoid buying dedicated tools. |
