Re: Rip fence DRO sensor bracket dimensions
¿ªÔÆÌåÓýThank you Sang Luu. I picked up a different display and found nothing. The biggest diff is in height about 2.2mm but hopefully that is okay.Imran Malik On Jul 6, 2022, at 1:58 AM, Sang Luu <sangluu@...> wrote:

Rip fence DRO sensor bracket dimensions
I am thinking of adding Fiama F8P DRO to my K975 rip fence. I can order The sensor mounting bracket from Felder but I am not sure if the two mounting holes will match. Here is the Fiama sensor dimensions.
From the way they look, appears Felder used Siko but I cannot find sensor dimensions on Siko site. Long story short, if someone can measure the center to center distance on sensor mounting screws (red arrows in pic below), I should be able to tell if Felder bracket would work. I know I can make my own but with Felder bracket, I should minimize issues, which is worthwhile. Regards, Imran |
Re: Is anyone going to IWF in August?
I am planning on being there on Tues/Wed as well.? IWF is a larger show than AWFS.? I was talking with one of the maintenance staff at the IWF about 10 years ago and he told me they laid 19 miles of carpet for the walkways so it takes a while to go through.

Felder KX7 1999 switch problem thread
¿ªÔÆÌåÓýImran, others:Here¡¯s the not followed through with thread from last summer about the switch. It started to work for a while, then cut off permanently in the autumn/early winter. I spoke with a woodworking machine repair specialist who was very expensive (to me anyway) but said he had the part/switch module that i needed, that he carries it around with him wherever he goes, along with thousands of other parts for all the big names in ww machinery. here¡¯s the thread: ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ [from july 2021] Hi all. Probably simple fo someone who knows more than I do: Over the years, occasionally I¡¯d turn off the saw with the small red button (not the emergency twist knob ) and then the saw wouldn¡¯t start up again for several tries. I¡¯d blow out or suction out the dust and it¡¯d then start up. Inconclusive whether dust was the cause.? Well this time, that protocol didn¡¯t work. I opened up both switches, checked connections, blew out dust, untwisted the wire (shown in photo). No luck.? The power from the main cutoff is there - hums until warmed up, indicating ready to go.? I opened up the main panel, blew out the minor dust, traced the power and switch wires to various terminals, and made sure those wires were tight.? I pressed all the fuse buttons (I assume they¡¯re fuse buttons) to ¡°reset¡± them. The black ones depress, the red ones do not.? Still no power to the saw. Anyone know what¡¯s going on here, or what I can do myself? Alternatively, anyone know a tech in central jersey that could come fix it? ?I have the wiring diagrams although they¡¯re confusing to me.? Thanks? Mike General Idea |
Re: Felder KX7 Slider saw for sale - $3000
¿ªÔÆÌåÓýNo, it¡¯s not the green switch. It¡¯s the safety switch that cuts saws off but cannot be reset and doesn¡¯t allow resetting so the saws can be turned on again. ?On Jul 4, 2022, at 12:06 PM, imranindiana <imranindiana@...> wrote:

Re: Felder KX7 Slider saw for sale - $3000
¿ªÔÆÌåÓýHi Mike,It appears you have independent scoring. So I assume top green button starts the saw and the lower green button starts scorer, only if saw is running. This is how my K975 works. All this to understand what really is wrong as I am not sure with your description. Are both green switches bad? Imran Malik On Jul 4, 2022, at 10:48 AM, mike krockford <mcrockford@...> wrote:
?Hello all, I¡¯m moving/shrinking my shop, as a result of our building being sold/gentrified, we are all being evicted. I¡¯m ?keeping my felder combo machine and selling the large/full size KX7 panel saw.? What¡¯s wrong: The safety switch that controls both the scoring and main cutting functions started cutting out, and now has cut out fully, so it won¡¯t power up. I blew out possible dust, checked connections, but it seems it just needs replacing. I might have even wrote to this forum when it first started fitzing. I was usually able to try the switch a couple times, but not anymore. Full failure occurred a couple months before we received notice to vacate, and I was putting off having it fixed bc i had the combination machine, and i was doing a long term on-site job. So it goes. Anyway, the saw is otherwise fully functional, 3ph. Slider works as it should. I am the second owner, and have had it for about 14 yrs. I bought it from a friend, and both of us are one-person shops. Not a production shop. I make a combination of furniture, some cabinets, and art/sculpture fabrications. This saw probably gets used about 20 days a year, if that. it still has the blade from the original owner. Ive attached photos, will attach a video of the slider in motion if possible.? I¡¯m selling it for $3000, firm. I will be available to show it this week, starting Tuesday morning, 7/5. Questions are welcome

Re: Shaper question
¿ªÔÆÌåÓýPower feeders have been used on saws for probably as long as they have been made and their is no reason to avoid using them. SLR¡¯s and gang saws work on a completely different principle?Regards, Mark On Jul 2, 2022, at 5:55 AM, Roger S <rsinden@...> wrote: |

This will be my first time attending the IWF show in Atlanta.? I have attended most IWFS shows (Las Vegas) in the last decade or more because it is relatively close but never attended IWF (I was told years ago that they alternate years because of geography).
So I am taking my Dad as a one time thing to see if it is bigger/better. I will be attending on Tuesday and Wednesday.? Love to meet some of the FOG if you are going! PK PKwoodworking |
Re: Shaper question
Roger,
It was a test.? It did work and useful to turn your table saw in to a rip saw - they are great to process a ton of similar parts quickly.? Gang rip saws have been using this idea for decades and work well.? Speed of the cut and hp do matter. It is not really usable for my kappa 400 x-motion.? And I have not seen someone use a power feeder on a kappa 400 (interested to see a slew of pics of people doing just that after I said what I just said). I am going to try and use the setup on my new J/P combo when it arrives.? The L'invincible does not have a setup like the Dual 51 to bolt it on the chassis. Regardless, the DC40 will spend most of its time on my shaper, which I am told by Felder will arrive at the end of the month - Fingers Crossed! PK PKwoodworking |
