Hey John.

Can you elaborate on that. Do all of your machines use the same amperage? Or do you just supply 8g to each outlet even if they only needed 12 amp? Is it ok to run a bigger wire even if less is drawn?

Shinta, message sent, thanks. And thanks to everyone else who responded. I'd prefer not to crate it up and ship it if I can sell it locally, sorry. I'll let you know in the future if it's still here.
Thanks,

Hi David,

Just saw your post. I suppose for 38' of 10 guage Romex, I was hoping not to pay more than $50 - $60.

I hear you... Now that the initial shock has dissipated, I will bite the bullet and shell out the bucks. Two years ago, during the height of the pandemic, I installed a 60amp subpanel with a significantly thicker guage wire and paid much less for it. Unfortunately, we're all going to need to get use to the annihilation of our funds.?

Hi all,
I¡¯m selling my f900 shaper circa 2007, if anyone is interested. I¡¯m in the SF Bay Area.
10hp
Digi Drive
Two 1-1/4¡± spindles
Swing away power feed mount (no feeder included)
It has treated me well for the past several years building doors and window sashes, but I don¡¯t have room for it anymore. Asking $5,500 OBO.
Here¡¯s a link to the add on CL:

Thank you David. Your blade setting description matches with my cutterhead that has factory set blades. It kind of made sense, so thought I ask.

Do you have a procedure for setting knives? or I can follow my proposed procedure of placing the cutterhead upside down on a flat surface and setting one knife and then flipping over to set the other. I can use a 0.001¡± or 0.002¡± shim to set the crest of the blade below that of nickers.

The angled cutters on both my 220mm rebate heads were not consistently aligned fresh from the factory. ?And I have no idea the original intent on how they should be aligned. ?But here is how I have mine aligned now and it works fine. ? ?The trailing edge of the skew on one of the cutters (what you call point ¡°A¡±) should be aligned with the height of nickers on that side of the cutter (or just under by a few thousandths). ?In my photo below, the crests of the cutters pointed to in red are all aligned to the same height. ?When flipped over, you get the same layout, and the knife pointed to with the green is aligned with the nicker heights on that side of the cutter.

Has anyone reset the knives on the Felder 220mm Rebate head? I found something odd so would like some feedback, if possible.
?
First this cutterhead has 2 shearing blades. The shear angles of the two blades are opposing, as in leaning forward and leaning backwards. There are two nickers on top and two on the bottom.
?
I decided to clean and reinstall the knives. After cleaning, I inserted blades (not fully tightened) and set the cutterhead, upside down, on the slider (over brown paper) surface. The cutterhead laid on the high points of the nickers, totally stable. I pushed the knives down even with the nickers and secured them. I decided to compare this cutterhead with the one with factory installed blades and noted a difference.
?
I have tried to communicate this difference with data in the table below. Cutterhead was installed on the shaper spindle. Height gauge was used to take readings of the high point of the blades and nickers relative to the shaper table. I repeated the measurement by installing the cutterhead upside down to measure the opposite side of the same blade and nickers that are on the opposite side. This was done because the material can be installed above or below the cutterhead. Measurements are in thousands of an inch.
?
First, we can ignore nickers as they all measure about same. As you can see in the pic below the blades are skewed. One blade has a high point on the cutting circle (A) while the other has the high point on the inside (B). The readings are always taken on top of the cutterhead even though the picture below shows A annotation on the bottom. This blade height pattern is opposite on the bottom of the cutterhead for the same blade, for example, as picture is shown, the blade measurement will be recorded in the B column. When the cutterhead is reinstalled upside down same blade height is recorded in A column. The blue arrows in the table below shows this pattern.
?

<image003.png>

Factory set cutterhead indicates that blades are not set at the same level, which is how I set the blades on the one cutterhead I cleaned. It appears condition A (1 on each side) is set very close to the nicker height. Which means condition B is considerably lower (~0.014¡±). I can achieve this by setting the cutterhead on the flat surface and only adjust condition A blade as described above. Then repeat the process by placing the other side of the cutterhead on the table and adjust the 2nd?blade (which is now in condition A).
?
Can anyone confirm? It kind-of makes sense to me. I am hoping for better luck here than Felder as no instructions are included with the cutterheads.
?
Regards,
?
