Re: opinion on dust collection stands
I have the big mouth hood on a stand like the picture..the really crappy part about these is the 4" hose has a hard time fitting on the end.? I had to buy one of those rubber connectors to go from the steel end fitting to a coupling then I could add the hose with a thumb twist strap to keep the hose on.? I use it for my stationary edge sander which hardly works for that either..

开云体育I think the big mouth would be in the way most of the time. I have the hood on my chop saw and it doesn’t collect the dust near the edges of the mouth.? On Aug 22, 2020, at 6:39 AM, imranindiana via groups.io <imranindiana@...> wrote:

开云体育LOL. i can by me a lifetime supply of tape measures for the price of one ?calibration station. granted i cannot be sure if it is with a mil but marking errors can be bigger. i am just surprised that there is a market for this. who uses these devices? i would have thought that if one needed such accuracy they would not be using a tape measure in the first place. perhaps to avoid litigation. imran? Re: Sticky table slie on CF 731
开云体育Paul, there could be several things at play but if all settings (rip fence toe out, slider trajectory, xcut fence 90 deg registration) are good and rip fence is pulled back then i personally will look into slider height vs cast iron. easy to do with a indicator set on cast iron and take slider through it’s range to confirm it stays above cast iron by at least ~5 thousands. this is still low enough for boards with slight imperfection to drag on cast iron. imran? I have a further problem which I keep putting off. If I tilt the blade to 45degrees the wood jams against the rip fence. I think I know how to solve this but just wondered is there any relationship between the two problems -- Paul Mc Cann |
