Re: can anyone identify this thin plastic part?

Could it go to the parallel guide on the end that goes into the fence? I already boxed up the fence rod exstension rod inside.? I took everything apart and put the pieces in a baggie.

can anyone identify this thin plastic part?

Hello, I am in the middle of selling things and have been taking some items apart to make it easier to pack for shipping. I found this on the ground and am trying to identify what thing it goes to so I can put it in the proper box.
?
It is about 24.8mm x 35.5mm at the outer curves and about 1mm thinck with a small solid round cylinder in the middle. The cylinder must fit into a hole in order to keep it in place.
?
Your help is much appreciated. John

Re: #forsale K700 Professional and FB 610 (Seattle) #forsale

Sorry for the delayed response!
The ShopSabre is a fully loaded 23 (30"x40"). ?Indexing lathe option, OptiLaser with quick connect dock, 2KW Italian Spindle, 3D copy probe, etc.
?
I will definitely post up here when I decide to sell the A3-31. ?Right now I'm trying to move the big stuff so I can get some of my shop space back.
?
Thanks!

Re: Hammer C3 31 rotary converter

Check you safety switches. They might be causing the motor not receiving power. Check emo stops as well as latches on shaper belt hatch/saw slide. It should be halfway between up and down.

Kind regards,?

Re: Hammer C3 31 rotary converter

Sounds like you may have the wiring wrong. Try switching the leads.

Re: Hammer A3-31 Guard Hardware Question

Apparently I have a later model of the guard on mine (see picture).? However, it is a very simple construction: the spring needs to develop enough pressure to push the guard up and you adjust the guard height by screwing down the adjustment knob from above.?
?
?
If your guard does not lift up, you need to increase spring tension.? The nuts in your picture are roughly in the right order as far as I understand it. Counting from the bottom, you have the first two that hold the bolt in place on the bracket.? Nut #4 would need to be adjusted upwards to increase the spring tension and #3 works then as a counter nut to hold #4 in place once adjusted.?
?
Hope that helps,
Johannes

Re: North State/Powermatic 16" Wide Belt Sander Mobility Kit

Like David Best, I made a plywood platform with supports underneath which allows me to move my 16" North State with a small pallet jack.?
?
I did try a mobile base, but the problem is that there isn't a good place/way to grab/steer the sander. The pallet jack makes for a good solution for this machine.?

Leigh FMT and Super Jig

I have not used my FMT or the super Jig since I've moved to Tucson. I suppose my woodworking is going in a different direction. I would like offers on both or either one separately.?
Thanks

Re: North State/Powermatic 16" Wide Belt Sander Mobility Kit

A pallet jack with narrower forks can move around machines on plywood platforms.? I had a 13" wide belt on one, about 1200 lbs.? Not as good as having 4 wheels for tight space but it takes a lot of weight to bog down a pallet jack.? ?My ideal solution idea was a welded base of angle iron with outrigger wheels that put the sander off the ground just a tad.? ?Maybe 1/4" angle iron for the frame and some thicker steel off the sides for the caster mounts.? I'm 6'1" but I would have prefered not having the sander quite that high.? For some machines the height can be welcome for me.?
?
You can get those pricey little modern looking casters with the foot that pops down and bolt them to the side of the machine.? Small wheels though.? People were putting those on Felder machines awhile back, dunno if it's still a thing.?
?
The Oasis Machinery MB800 is a good mobile base that's adjustable.? Good value in a heavier duty base.? I have an 800lb machine on mine but due to the smaller wheels it takes more muscle to push than the same weight on a pallet jack.?

Re: North State/Powermatic 16" Wide Belt Sander Mobility Kit

I used to keep tools and a workbench on these steel ball casters. These have a 1¡± diameter steel ball in a cup with smaller ball bearings inside the cup. They roll in any direction. I could re-position my Unisaw with one finger. One of each is shown in the picture.
?
These can be had with stem mount or surface mount. I have no idea what the weight limit on these is, but I suspect it is quite high.
?
For tools that had to be really immobile when in use I put the wheels on levers, so I could raise and lower the tool onto the casters.
?
In my current shop tools very rarely move, so few machines are on wheels.

I have mine on a plywood platform with 4x4 feet so I can move it around with a pallet jack that stores under the J/P when not in use.?

Re: mounting Aigner rails on cast iron machines

In my fs52es Aigner rail install we noted that the walls were not parallel or even plumb due to the need for a casting to come out of a cast cleanly. The taper was accounted for by some
m8 steel leveling washers from McMaster recommended by brian holcombe. We could only fit one with the hardware we had and I didn¡¯t want the play on both sides of the wall so we used one on the inside. and the outside was reference. The slight sag was not an issue. Things work fine but one of my Aigner tables has some bow along the length I need to deal with or swap out with another used in a less critical function. I recommend the washers.
