Re: Nordfab QF adapter for RL200
#dustcollection
Hi John,
?
is there a rivet there blocking the way? ?My RL125 has two that I would need to file down in order to fit a machine adapter. ?I opted for a 1ft flex hose straight to the inlet anyways for machine vibration isolation from the duct. ?You could maybe use an 8in small section or a small section of 200mm from Felder.

Nordfab QF adapter for RL200
#dustcollection
Hi all,
?
I¡¯m in the process of installing some new Nordfab ducting. I hit a minor roadblock right out of the gate: the 8¡± QF machine adapter doesn¡¯t quite fit on the inlet of my RL200. It¡¯s close enough that I spent a fair bit of time fiddling around tapping the RL¡¯s inlet with a mallet, since it¡¯s not particularly precise in its roundness. I eventually conceded that approach as a failure.
?
I¡¯ve been searching here and elsewhere, but haven¡¯t found any accounts of or solutions to this problem. ?Since the adapter *almost* fits, I could very likely just kerf one or both sides to gain the needed clearance. ?But before I cut metal, I thought I¡¯d ask here (and an email to my vendor, who ofc had already closed for the weekend) if anyone knows of a standard or otherwise clever way to tackle this problem?

Joe, The following 40mm #031 profile cutter has cuts below the flat limiter edge. James On Sat, Dec 7, 2024 at 1:49?PM bacchus6015 via <joeinno=[email protected]> wrote:

Re: Source for custom knives for 40 mm Felder safety cutter
¿ªÔÆÌåÓýI agree that the proper limiter is better but if you are power feeding it is fine to use the flat limiter. If hand feeding then the proper limiter is a nice safety feature. ?When talking about the 40mm knives for these particular cutter heads I don¡¯t think any profiles have cuts below the flat limiter edge. ?I think all profiles are from the flat limiter and out. I remember struggling with getting knives and limiters for these cutter heads years ago. ?I found that I could get knives from Guhdo or Felder at the time and Guhdo was much faster. ?The knives and limiters were not widely available in the US around 2010 that I could find. ?The fellow from Guhdo pointed out that I could use the flat limiter with any profile as long as power feeding and that was very helpful. ? I had several of these cutter heads and would leave them set up, using flat limiters saved money. ?I had two cutter heads set up for tongue and groove. ?? Joe?

¿ªÔÆÌåÓýI think as a fallback you can use the flat limiter with any profile. ?Joe

Imran, what I meant was the shops who do custom grinding of profiles for your Felder euroblock don't all grind the limiters too.? Some will only do the cutters, though I believe some of them will do the limiters too.??

¿ªÔÆÌåÓýSorry for the confusion caused by the picture I shared as an example. As the title say and the end of my original msg says, ¡°I am looking for someone who can do a custom knife set for me, 40 mm tall.¡± Brent, You are correct, most Amana series don¡¯t come with limiters. FWIW, I have used a rebate limiter with one I bought that did not come with limiter but I got them from Felder after 6 weeks or so.
