Re: Hammer HS950 Edge Sander #whatmachinetobuy

For the miter gauge, there are some headless hex screws you put into the bottom piece and they go through the screw holes in the miter on top. Kinda hokey.

The shipping label on mine says: Made for Hammer Austria - Europe, but not where. Supposedly Europe somewhere. But parts can come worldwide. The source labeling laws are less specific than in the US.

Re: Felder circular saw blades

Are there two types of shims used with Felder dado tooling?

For example for K975, Felder provides 3mm, 6mm & 9mm shims to make-up the space on the arbor. My dado set (not Felder) has the finer shims to make up the dado width.

I think I see the thicker makeup shims in David Best’s utube video posted earlier.

Maybe the thicker shims come with the machine, when ordered with the dado option.?Anyhow, might be worthwhile to understand this before placing the order.

Re: Hammer HS950 Edge Sander #whatmachinetobuy

I have one.

You have to remove the bottom piece of the runner.? If you look at the diagram for the HS950 in the instructions, it alludes to removing it.? The hex bolts are in there with some kind of thread lock.? Some heat might help.? When you remove it, it works, but you need to insert some included set screws to keep the thing level in the t-slot.

I can take the picture of the instruction page tomorrow if you need it.

?Did the freight company deliver with the lift gate? Felder told me the machine was too big for liftgate service, so I have to pick it up from the freight company.

Is the pallet with the machine base configured so it can be picked up from the side, instead of from the end?

Supposedly mine will be shipped from Delaware, leaving by the end of next week.

I had mine delivered FedEx freight, it only had to transferee once enroute. When I told the local FedEx terminal manager the size and weight they refused to put it on a lift gate. I picked mine up at the terminal. They were really helpful loading it to in my truck at the terminal.?

I already scrapped the sub pallet but you can see it still there in the first pic. The second picture is how I have it sitting in the shop currently before I can unpackage it.

SIDE NOTE: I couldn’t believe my eyes when the machine arrived with Powerdrive K2! The spec sheet doesn’t even show that I has power drive. My salesman didn’t know of this either. This was the other buyer’s machine that I accepted delivery of after paying extra for the miter index and DRO style fence.?

Here’s my spec sheet. This seems to me like a factory oversight???
