Re: zci for k940

开云体育

Looks Awesome. What is the white blob looking thing at the end of LED strip?

So looks like you are recreating what felder supplies. Is this 1st step to make ZCI?

I need one terribly for K975. I bought 2 for KF700 and never installed them. It was not bad because I do not have scoring. I think scoring just exacerbates the situation and cutoffs are violent. IMHO, OEM should consider ZCI implementation when designing the saw.

My Tannewitz came with their old style blade guides with steel wear strips.? Tannewitz now uses ball bearing type guides. I've emailed asking for pricing replacement wear strips and on new guides.? I did see one place selling replacement wear strips and the set for upper and lower were like $700 !? To put things in perspective, the rear bearing on the original guides in 3" across. I found one new rear bearing assembly on ebay for like $70.? But I will need a second and all new wear strips.

I've been using Laguna ceramic guides for 20 years. I intend to primarily use the Tanny for resawing and plan to mount a resaw feeder to the table.

You can do the same thing with a VFD and some simple programming.

?

You need to make sure the motor is 3 phase and VFD rated

Need to know the max RPM rating of the fan

Know the FLA rating of the motor

?

Program the VFD to automatically increase the RPM until you hit a current limit, I’d suggest something like 10% below FLA.? Also set a top RPM limit below the fan rating.? You may find the fan make too much noise at top speed so lower the upper limit.

?

Fans pull max current when moving max air.? If the line has a small port it’s not moving much air so the current is low.? The VFD will automatically speed the motor up creating more suction pressure automatically

I loved the Smart collector that was here for a while. I'd like to see them size it up for shops like mine in the 15-20hp range.

I have one saw that I wish was on a turntable.? It is in a single bay part of the garage.? Long rips in one direction but need to turn it for long crosscuts.? Easier to go to the other building than reconfigure.? Dave

?Well? Thanks for that.?? So my assumption was in error?? One doesn't do? anything with a turn table ON a saw.? One puts the Saw ON a turn table.

I am a little nonplussed though.?? I am unable to? imagine the utility? of turning one's saw round and round.? What's the up side?? Sales? Showroom stuff?

Anyway I could make you one.??

You will have to provide me five guys to help me get the plate on and off my mill.

Does anyone have a copy of the drawing of the top mounting plate for the almost mythical turntable for the BF6.

I remember mounting a 6-41 M on one for an exhibition in 1994 while working for the guys that were the uk sales agent back then but cant figure out the centre point of rotation for my machine as its not as straight forward as one might expect. Because we got it wrong at the 1st attempt.

I've located a potential bearing that is the right size and load capacity. But need the top plate layout, because the layout is to close to guess.

Catalog picture without the machine would do at a pinch.

Thanks in advance.

Jonny, I feel that pain, I have too much Nordfab to sell. Luckily it sells pretty well on ebay

I paid Oneida to design my original shop, and as I recall they deducted it from my ducting cost. It was a good system with little waste. After I built my new shop I decided to go with Nordfab type snap together tubing. I paid Oneida for the design and bought the pipe and fittings from BlastGate. I literally saved about $2,000 from the Nordfab and Oneida cost. Again, I had almost no excess pieces. A year or two later I changed my shop setup and did the layout myself. It took three separate orders to get it right and like you I found I still had at least $400-500 in spare parts. It only takes one wrong Wye or a couple of Ell’s to make it worthwhile to pay a pro to do it.

Thank you. I had wanted a four wheel feeder which would be heavier. ?But maybe don’t need it. ?I will look at the parts numbers you provided?

Marshall, Trevor, Roger,

I am sure you guys know of the home made gas strut option – big lift. I am not aware of any hammer user who has installed the big lift but if the tilt bracket is similar to felder then it should work. It does require least 1.75” gap between feeder bracket and J/P wall on combination machines. Big lift requires a custom bracket which is not too difficult to make. It can be made out of AL but steel is better and can be thinner. Design for both versions are attached. Short video shows how it works.

?

Looks like Felder tilt bracket with gas assist is for felder machines only but perhaps it can be adapted. I know someone was able to purchase just the gas assist parts from felder.

?

Hope this helps.

Hi Trevor

?

41 kgs ? ?Huh….lightweight ;-). ?Mine is too heavy at 71kg TBH. ?I must have missed yours when I was looking to get one as IIRC I couldn’t find the reach of those available at the time on the Hammer catalogue. ?Or maybe it was the eye-watering price ? ?Hence going for the beast that I have because, like you, I thought that it would be good to get one that would cover off all three functions. ? But I’ve tried ripping a few times and ….? ?Well maybe your timber is better than mine but I soon came to the conclusion that out of all three functions, the table saw is the one that you listen to as it’s cutting, easing off when you need to. ?When you use a power feeder, you don’t get that option of ‘finesse’ as it were. ?It’ll just try and bash it through…come what may.

?

Even so, do you not find that that central pillar wanders about ?

?

Lastly, how many Weetabix do you have for your breakfast ?

?

Hi Marshall,
? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? I have a C3-31 with a S308 power feed (part no 05.3.011) it mounts on a tilting bracket (part no 503-127) the feeder works both on a flat and horizontal axis.

It is really very heavy. The bracket mounting is different than used on the saw range (no photograph in the old catalogue) and at first appears that ?the single bolt securing mechanism is too light for the mass of the feeder.

There is a learning curve.

1. keep your legs and feet out of the way ?when lowering and raising.

2. Wind the motor as far forward as possible before you tilt it. The pivot arc is then controllable as it lowers.

3. Loosen all the adjusting levers just as you lower it onto the saw bench and it will level and square itself properly, then tighten everything up and you are good to go.

4. Toe the front in very slightly for best running results especially with the shaper.

5. Do a few dry runs with whatever option of the machine you want to use. Then you are ready to go.

6. Approximately ?6 inches is the widest board that you can rip when the feeder is mounted.

It is invaluable with the shaper and works well with both jointer and saw. It cost 1k Euros in 2018.

I was very sceptical at first due to the weight ?and found it very hard to set up, now I wouldn't be without it, and always look for ways to use it, as even ripping rough stock it is less tiring, safer, and you get a more consistent finish?
