Mariusz, You¡¯re correct. If it¡¯s pure paint grade an HDF panel with rebate (or extra thick-think 3/8¡± or 1/2¡±) is often considered superior since it doesn¡¯t suffer from growth.?

Imran, I might be wrong, but if you rebated a much thicker plywood panel (veneered to match the frame), like David suggested, I would think the end result would be superior to a solid wood panel as it would not ¡°suffer ¡° from seasonal movement or possible warping. I¡¯m actually planning to build my kitchen this way, but I would love to hear why this might not be the best option.?
