Re: To Keep or not to keep Cabinet saw

Edited

If keep tools around that you are familiar with using, you will always end up finding an excuse to use them...In which case why did you upgrade?? I only have the slider, no cabinet saw. Keeping another table saw was never even considered.?

For ripping, I either use a parallel guides ( I do need to upgrade to Brian's version) and clamps, or the F&F jig. I keep a 500mm rip fence (Felder?410-099)?on the machine and use it as a bump stop.? ??

Dados are not a big deal to me.? On my machine it is 4 screws to change the table insert and the screw that holds the blade.? I can change over in a couple of minutes.? It does take a little planning to limit how often I have to change over.? I try to draw everything in cad first and consider change-over when I make my cut list.? ??

Honestly, after using the slider and learning how to properly support and clamp the workpiece, I have zero desire to ever use a cabinet saw again.?
