Don¡¯t hardly do it anymore but my main bread and butter when i was 25 yrs younger were tables of all sizes with customer selected veneers pressed on mdf with solid wood edging.?
I initially did it in the predictable ways , oversized then router flush trim, then oversized and virutex lipping planer then + 1/32¡± and stroke sander then finally as close to dead nuts and block plane as needed if at all.?
?If i did it today i would shoot for +1/64-1/32 and block plane. If i still had a stroke sander then that instead of the block

I use a Bosch Colt router with a similar offset base for lipping for years prior to getting the Virutex lipping planer. I still pull it out on occasion for a few things. I like to leave it a whisker high and then plane flush with my block plane.
